This is my second Compaq computer, and I love it. I have had two other kinds of computers and they don't compare to ease of setup and use that a Compaq offers. Compaq also has very helpful customer services reps. They were more than helpful when I called them with some general questions.
This PC came with Wheel Mouse, which I love (this was my first wheel mouse). Makes scrolling pages much easier. It also came with a USB Keyboard, and software including Recovery CD, the Roxio CD Creator, a Symantec AntiVirus, and an EA Sports Gaming Pack (which my son loves).
Real easy set up straight from the box. Windows XP Home Edition installed itself, that was nice. I was able to jump online in a snap. The processor is really fast. Has nice speed on the internet. Really nice to have when you are surfing the web! Especially if you are burning a CD or such while your doing it. That can typically slow you down. But not on this PC.
The 512 RAM gives plenty of room for running applications. And this computer also has open slots for additional drives, cards, etc. that you may want to install.
This is great PC for home users and gamers alike. Excellent deal for the money. Nice memory. But if you run tons programs and games (those known as computer geeks), may want to get a PC with more Gigabytes of memory. But, this is an excellent PC for the average computer user. You will not find a better deal!
The only thing I didn't like about this computer is the keyboard is a USB. Which takes up 1 of 4 USB ports. It has two on the back of the computer and two in the front of the computer, for easier access. I have a web-camera, a digital camera, and a scanner. Which all uses USB ports. I am sure you get my point. Not enough USB ports to have a USB keyboard. The keyboard really needs it own connection. The computer doesn't come with an XP disk because of Compaq's regulations, which is the only other draw back.
I liked that it came with Symantec AntiVirus/Firewall software, which protects you from internet snoopers, otherwise known as hackers. That was an added bonus.
