Pros: Lightweight,long battery life,usable worldwide,great sound(better than Nokia),web ready and more.
Cons: scratches show as case is colored on the external surface. No dedicated alarm clock.
The Bottom Line: Everything you need in a world phone today. Long battery life, lightweight, clear sound, durable, small and compact yet not flimsy or too small that it becomes difficult to use.

| boulderben's Full Review: Motorola Timeport 280 |
I upgraded from a Nokia 5190. Nokia battery needed replacing and often disconnected from the phone. Traveling to Taiwan, I also needed a phone that would work abroad. Although the Nokia had been faithful, the Motorola (a brand that i was never terribly impressed with) far surpassed it in many areas I deem important in a cellular phone. Smaller, lighter, and longer battery life are just a start.
Sound quality is better, reception improved, large display is clean an visible. Worked great in Taiwan on the GSM system; I was receiving crystal clear calls while hiking through a National park halfway around the world. Built in voice notes recorder a bonus, as is voice recognition dialing and vibra-alert. Have not yet used the ir port, but the web enabled P280 has led me to take advantage of Voicestream's istream service; real nice! Great phone.
