Cons: Announcers don't always comment accurately, some fouls are incorrectly called, few real moves
The Bottom Line: Get it because it's the ultimate friend against friend sports game. You can't beat it.

FIFA 2002 is the best sports game I've played. It is a great way to channel a competitive attitude into action. Challenge your friends or, when they're not around, put the game setting to the hardest level and evolve so you can crush them later.
The game has many tournaments available including World Cup Qualifiers, in which you have to place first or second (and clinch a playoff trophy) for four different national divisions before moving on to the GIANT World Cup Tourney.
There are a few screens full of options, from assisted crossing to fatigue level. You can also pick from club teams like Barcelona from the Spanish Premier Division or national teams like Spain from the UEFA.
The main point I'm getting at here is that you can customize the entire game which adds to it's sense of enjoyment because you can vary the game so much.
The gameplay itself is also sweet. You can put bend on shots to curve them around a charging goaltender or on crosses so your man can run onto it. You've the option to volley, bike, or dive headfirst into the ball if your man is open enough. All shots/passes must be directed with the left analogue stick or cursor which makes it a more skilled game.
Finally, the camera work is exceptional. There are many different angles and celebrations your players do after a goal. Replays of fouls and offsides give you the oppurtunity to see if you were hosed or if the call was legitimate.
You gotta love head to head, and this game is all about the 1 V 1. Endless fun, baby, endless.
