Pros: Pros? I dont think so! Ok, maybe one, I can call Peoria from Casa Grande!
Cons: Everything! LONG hold for customer service. WONT return calls, major billing errors & over priced.
The Bottom Line: If you're pretty happy with your current service, DONT switch to Alltel. Any problems that arrise will NOT be answered or fixed. Talk to someone else and look around.

OK, I've been with them for over 3+ years and I FINALLY am leaving! (Only lasted that long because they used to be Cellular One about a year ago and they treated me like a queen til Alltel took over!!!) They had billing errors and over charged me almost every month since Alltel took over and took them about 6-7 months to correct their billing errors. If you want answers to any of your questions or concerns, you have to be the one to call back...EVEN if you ask for someone to call back when it gets back from their "review" dept. Try them--I guarantee you'll be waiting forever for them to call you back, cause they wont. Average hold time to talk to someone is about 20 minutes or 1+ hours! I know! As for reception, it's ok off and on, but poor volume and often calls get dropped after talking over 20 mins, going over a bridge, or between mountains. I can only give them credit though since I can still call from Casa Grande to Peoria with pretty clear calls and strong signals at home, just when I'm driving into town, it sometimes like to cut off passing thru mountains, but maybe that's normal with other networks? As for other areas and customer service: Takes too long to call and access your used minutes too..needs easier way. As for rates, they used to have good plans or competitive rates, I'll admit, BUT no more. The good 'ol days are now over since they became big! They wont even match other's plans to save you as a customer after you've been with them for over 3 years! Oh, well, I'll give my money to someone else! Beware before signing up with them and ASK questions and have it in writing BEFORE you sign ANY contracts! READ the SMALL prints! I was told it was a 1 yr contract and found out a year later that I signed up for 2! (As I mentioned, Cellular One used to be my carrier til about 1 1/2+ years ago--not sure if the Cellular One branch I had sold it to Alltel or if Cellular One switch their name to Alltel, but problems started as soon as my billing showed Alltel as the provider. I was told by Alltel that they did not buy out Cellular One, but just changed their names, but I'm still seeing Cellular One offices around so not sure if the customer service was full of it.) I dont recommend this to anyone who value their time.
Update--I just got offered a GREAT phone with a plan with voicestream of 600 mins. w/ unlimited weekend and free nationwide roaming and long distance for $39.99 so I called Alltel to see if they can match it to "keep my service" and they DID have a similar plan they can offer me FOR $69.99 with ONLY 400 mins.! They said their plan is better because it's digital and analog since Voicestream is only digital. Isnt everyone eventually going digital?!! Like I want to pay an extra $30 for 200 less minutes a month with equiv. to $360 extra to Alltel a year!!! I'll take my chance with only digital and told them to cancel and terminate my service with them. Hopefully that will go well. I'll update if it doesnt as well as letting you know how my new service with Voicestream is when I've had them bit longer. Say "NO" to Alltel!
