Pros: Audio chat with your friends is a great advantage.
Cons: A great amount of down time and "lag".
The Bottom Line: Don't get it. I only keep it because now I have to have sound when I am online. I'm addicted.

| roselily's Full Review: PalTalk |
Paltalk began as a great program with very basic text and graphics, but it had free audio chat. It was slow, but everyone dealt with it, as it was a new program. In time, paltalk got better. It sped up, the audio became clearer and colored text became available. With these new advancements came some very bad changes. Paltalk suffers from what users call "lag". Lag is basically when the text and the voice dont match..you may hear something and see responses before you hear the question or a very long time after you have heard the question. Every time Pal has an "upgrade", things go very wrong. For instance, there was once when we lost all audio and once when we lost all text abilities and anyone who typed got thrown out of the rooms. We regularly call upgrades "downgrades" instead. Paltalk also sufferes from Pop Up Mania. To keep paltalk free, they must advertise. They do this in many ways including have two pop up advertisement screens when you log on and off, and intermittantly in between. They also give you messages that are inherently unimportant and simply annoying to the majority of users.
