Travelocity - The WORST!

What a horrible experience! I booked a flight with them for $180 dollars. The next day I received a voicemail message from them telling me there was a problem with my reservation and to please call them at their toll-free phone number. So I called and waited on hold for over a half hour! When the agent finally picked up, she told me the reason for the call was that the fare had changed to $540!!!! That's a 300% increase! When I tried to cancel, she informed me there would be a 7 - 10 day merchant's hold on my credit card. When I insisted on speaking with a supervisor, I kept getting put back on hold for ten minutes at a time, never getting the chance to speak to a supervisor. Only after insisting, and threatening legal action, did the agent contact my credit card company while I was on the line and getting the merchant's hold released. Fortunately for me, I had enough available credit that I could have purchased another ticket without having that hold released, but what if I hadn't had enough available credit? I would have been unable to buy a ticket from someone else and I would have been trapped into buying the higher priced ticket from Travelocity.com. I am outraged over the fact that the rate went up 300%, I'm angry over having to wait on hold a half hour for someone to answer, I'm angry that I had to had to become irate before they lifted the merchant's hold, and I'm disgusted by the fact that the agent kept saying it was the airline's fault, not Travelocity.com's fault. The happy ending to the story is that I got the same flight for $140 at Orbitz.com - and no, I don't have any affiliation with them!
