I purchased my Dell after researching for about 6 months.Well, that is the average time I take for my researches.
The price is just right and with the promotional offers, like free shipping,100$ mail in rebate etc, that Dell offers every now and then you could get a great deal.
I have a 1.5GHz processor,128MB RAM and a 20 GB hard drive.Of course this is more than sufficient for my needs and I can upgrade them with great ease.
Windows ME was pre-installed in my system and of course, like every Microsoft Operating system gives me trouble now and then!Well,we all know the only solution for this problem.Shutdown and restart!.Other than that everything works fine.I got a Windows XP upgrade which I haven't used yet.
The only thing I don't like about my Dell is the noise it makes.I read that the cooling fans make that noise. So this gave an idea.I always put on my table fan when I sit before my Dell. Now I hear the noise of my table fan only!
Believe it or not,the best thing about Dell is the excellent customer service I got.I have had my share of experiences with customer service cells.(Once I had mailed ROXIO 7 times before I got a reply). When I had a problem with my CD-RW drive(I could not burn data CDs) I mailed Dell.I got a reply with 24 hours. For every mail I sent,I got a sure reply the next day.And then, they came over and replaced my CD drive.Wasn't that great?
