The Bottom Line: Stay away from Suncom, especially in Va Beach, or you will seriously regret it!

I have just recently cancelled my service agreement with Suncom and GLADLY paid the $200.00 just to get rid of their horrible service. I was never able to make any calls from the area around my home and for a couple mile radius due to signal strength and when I can make a call it sounds like you are using tin cans on a string to talk into. Then thankfully it gets dropped; you couldn't hear what anyone was saying anyway. I have a good Nokia phone so I know it's the service not the phone. Plus when I tried to cancel a couple months ago the customer service rep gave me a new phone to stay and said the problem must be with my phone so I went along. The new phone wasn't any better. The service does work well in some area of Norfolk but mostly the coverage area is full of gaps. Suncom also has serious issues with the customer service they provide. They are uninformed and inconsiderate. I implore anyone considering getting cellular service through Suncom to choose someone else. I would not use this service if they offered unlimited minutes for free because I wouldn't be getting anything. I had an initial contract for 400 minutes but most months could only use about 20 minutes of it due to inability to get a signal or very poor reception. Luckily they do allow you to change plans. I hated the service after getting it and then got stuck with the "automatic renewal" of contract. I chose Suncom because the price was better than the competitors but in the long run I ended up paying alot more and had horrible service for a year. Now I wish I had cancelled after the first month and just paid the $200.00 then.
