| gwh007's Full Review: SunCom Mobile Phone Service in Lexington/Louisvill... |
I purchased a family plan with four phones. The salesman told me the phones may show roaming in our calling area. I was also told that if any roaming minutes were charged to my plan to contact him and he would credit those minutes. After the first month, several minutes showed up as roaming minutes. I contacted the salesman and he said he would credit those minutes back to us. The next month, there were more roaming minutes and no credit. I contacted the salesperson and he told me the credit takes two billing cycles and that he would credit the second month's roaming minutes. The third month's bill rolls by with more roaming charges and no credits. I contacted the salesman who acted dumbfounded. He told me he would credit all of the minutes and explained they wouldn't show up as roaming credits (he said he couldn't do that), but there would be a referral credit in the total amount. He also said he would change the plan to one where no roaming minutes would be charged to me anywhere in the state.
The fourth month's bill comes with more roaming charges, no credits and the same plan structure. I call the store and the salesman no longer works there (surprise). I contact customer care who claims they can't do anything about bills since this was a verbal agreement between the salesperson and me. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but they were in a meeting with the director. I asked to speak to the director's supervisor and was told that was an unknown person (I will refer to as Mr./Miss Mysterious) at AT&T. I contacted AT&T who confirmed that there was indeed a Mr./Miss Mysterious, but they couldn't give me their information. However, they did recommend I report this to the FCC.
The area service is terrible. You can be on one side of a room in my house (smack in the middle of the calling area) and move to the other side of the room and the phone starts to roam.
