Pros: cheap and easy

Cons: poor drivers, no SMP support, no digital record via S/PDIF

Wow, I'm really surprised this got such high reviews. I bought one a couple months back and I'm so frustrated I'm in the market for a new one.

First off, I regularly get BSOD's on my dual proc XP box because their drivers aren't thread safe. (BTW, this not an XP problem because the fault is occurs in the 3rd party drivers). No mention of this in the requirements, specs or other pre-sales literature. I only found out by digging through their FAQ doc (about 4 pages into no less.)

Secondly, the there is no way to record directly off the S/PDIF connection so all inputs from digital devices go through a D->A conversion before you can manipulate them.

Finally, the bundled software sucks so don't plan purchasing your new apps if you don't already own them.
