Pros: Excellent visual style, effectively spiral storytelling, memorable performances
Cons: Relationship between Kilmer and his unlucky neighboor is underdeveloped.
The Bottom Line: I just had to answer a bunch of stupid questions that dont apply to how i saw the film.

Val Kilmer is an actor i really like...but i haven't liked him lately. Honestly...Tombstone was the last performance of his I remember noting. But he is back in top form with the Salton Sea..and he ain't alone. He is backed up by very good performances(mainly a noseless Vincent D'Onofrio), an interesting story, and stylish(while occasionally over the top) directing. We get two stories in one movie...both of which are interesting...while the second story we get is more dramatic than the first. Ok so some scenes were cool for the sake of just being cool...but the film was more entertaining than most of the crud that has come out in the past year. Drugs and revenge haven't been this interesting in quite a while.
