Pros: Nice rooms, great spa, and convenient to the casinos
Cons: There is no restaurant in the hotel, just a snack area.
The Bottom Line: Great weekend retreat -- relax in the spa, play golf, or try your luck at the casino. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly, and the prices reasonable.

| diverpam's Full Review: Grand Terrace Hotel |
The Grand Terrace is the newest of the three Grand hotels located in Tunica, MS, the casino capital of the South.
It has a spacious open lobby area with plenty of check-in room. It has always been a smooth process to check-in and usually I had a coupon for a free or reduced rate room. The staff has always been very polite and helpful. The price of the rooms start at about $59 a night during the week and are about $99 a night during the weekend.
The Lobby Area
There is no restaurant in the hotel, you have to go over to the casino. However, there is a snack area were you can buy sandwiches, salads, snacks and pastries.
There is also a bar and a cozy lounge area with fireplace.
And, of course, there is the requisite gift shops with souvenirs, some wearing apparel, and toiletries.
The Rooms
We have stayed there many times and have gotten different type rooms. My favorite was a large, corner room with entry hallway with wet bar, spacious sleeping area with a king-size bed and very roomy bathroom with double sinks.
All the rooms have limited bathroom amenities, just a bottle of shampoo and lotion with the Grand label. Beware, the water is very soft and makes it hard to rinse your hair. The bathrooms all have hairdryers and marble vanities. The tubs are usually fairly small, with those shower curtains that love to flap in the breeze.
The rooms have an iron and full ironing board, desk, armoire with television (no cable channels) so you can only watch Memphis channels for free. We've never purchased a premium movie there, but they are available.
The rooms are always clean and well-kept and have extra pillows and blankets. We usually have to call for extra towels, because I take a lot of showers there. I can't stand smelling like smoke after coming back from the casino.
All the rooms we've stayed in have wet bars and refrigerators. It is a good idea to take some bottled water with you. The water in Tunica is pretty nasty and you don't want to pay inflated prices for bottled water at the hotel.
The Spa, Did Someone Say Spa?
Of course, if you go to the wonderful Belissimo spa, you can have all the chilled bottled water you want.
I think the spa is my primary reason for staying there, aside from the casino just across the street. The people who work there are very warm and friendly and always make it a very relaxing and positive experience.
I can send my husband off to play golf at the Cottonwoods Golf Club (part of the Grand properties) and have a wonderful massage, steam, or soak in the whirlpool.
The massage is $80 and includes use of all the spa amenities. The steam room is great. Plenty roomy and very private ... I've never had anyone else come in while I was there.
They have a wonderful Swedish Massage shower with about 12 or so nozzles, at various heights, surrounding you in the shower. I love to use that shower after a massage. I am so relaxed I can barely find my way back to the room.
They also have a nice exercise room and a full salon where you can get coiffed, waxed, manicured, pedicured... the works!
The locker room area is huge with every imaginable amenity you might need after spending time in the spa. Soaps, lotions, shampoos, hairdryers, curling irons, styling brushes, hair spray, deodorant, razors... you name it!
The towels are big, thick and fluffy and always snow white. It is a wonderful pampering experience to visit there.
Of course, I have no experience in visiting the men's side of the spa, but I can well imagine that they are nicely cared for there, as well.
Transportation
The hotel provides round the shuttle service over to the Grand Casino. It stops at the adjacent Grand Veranda Hotel before dropping you off at the casino.
There is plenty of free parking available, along with valet service if you prefer.
Recommendation
If you're planning to visit Tunica, MS, I would definitely recommend the Grand Terrace. Don't forget to check out the spa!
