I've been wanting a watch with kanji (Japanese/Chinese characters) on it for a couple years now, and found exactly what I was looking for in this watch.
There were a few choices available, but I chose the "Dragon Tic" watch. Why?
1) It's the only Chinese Tic watch that comes in black.
2) The digital display was the least annoying.
3) Dragons are cool.
Even if I hadn't been specifically looking for a watch with kanji on it, I would have bought this one. The brushed stainless look is something that I love just about anywhere (including kitchen appliances). ^^ It seems very sturdy, and is easy to read. In general, it an attractive and distinctive watch.
And, frankly, after having wanted something like this for so long, I get a little thrill every time I look at it. ^^
The only downside so far is that it's a bit too big, and I'll have to get the band resized. But since my uncle-in-law is a jeweler, this shouldn't be a problem. I can see why the band is this size, however, since I realize that I have smallish wrists, and other women may very well have larger bones than I do.
Basically, I think the idea of making a watch with Chinese numbers on it is very cool and different, and I love Fossil for coming up with it!
