| kriscloud9's Full Review: Hewlett Packard HP PhotoSmart 7550 Ink-jet Printer |
I was given this printer as a gift for my birthday. I love photography and had just gotten a new digital camera. This is the perfect combination.
This printer has slots for 4 different kind of memory sticks as well as a direct connection for an HP camera. You can print the photos without ever using the computer. Of course you always have a direct connection to your computer, too.
The image quality is amazing! The printer holds tri-color and black ink cartridges, as well as a photo cartridge. When printing a document the printer keeps great speed. For photos, the printer prints clear, crisp images in color and black/white. Photos take some time to print at best quality and use quit a bit of ink. Yes, it's worth it. I gave out framed 8 by 10 pictures for Christmas presents and printing from home saved me lots of money.
Another advantage is that the printer has multiple paper feeders. There is a feeder for 8 by 10 paper, envelopes, and a third for 4 by 6 photo paper. The only catch is that the letter size slot is the only one that can hold bulk paper. A duplexer and be purchased separately.
The only disadvantage I have found is connection. The printer did not come with a USB. I had to purchase it separately. Make sure to put your printer close to your computer and use a short USB. I started with a 15 ft. (way too long) and I kept loosing connection.
