Pros: They work great, and are comfortable.
Cons: They work so well and are so comfortable, they vanish at alarming rates.
The Bottom Line: Bottom line? These things kick butt. You won't buy another type of earplug ever again.

| funkawitz's Full Review: Industrial Hearing Protection: Max Corded-3 Carton... |
I've been in many places around the world. My job requires me to work in very noisy areas, and as a result of such, I've used every earplug and earmuff known to humankind.
Earmuffs that go over your ears are nice, except after 10 hours it is like having your noodle in a bench vise. They just plain hurt like hell after awhile. They get in the way all the time. They slide off, and make your ears feel like they are inside someone's mouth. Plus they mess up your hair. It is fine for me to be covered in sweat, grease, dirt, killer bees, man eating cobras, etc as long as my hairdo isn't messed up.
After meeting the above requirements, the only options left is to either remove my ears (Not possible, well, possible but not practical) or wear earplugs. Me, being as partial to my ears as I am, decide on earplugs. Corded plugs are a must, because you lose less of them through the day. I've tried EVERY kind of earplug, and my favorite, without a doubt, are Howard Leight MAX for EXTREMELY intense noisy areas of 130db and higher, and Howard Leight Quiet ear plugs for normal machine noise or average everyday industrial machinery, such as blowmolding machines.
The MAX plugs are a squishy foam roll up in jam in your ear type. They are very comfortable, and very high on the noise reduction rating. They are even comfortable after many hours of use.
The Quiets on the other hand, these things flat out ROCK. They are made out of a soft silicone like material. Most earplugs are made out of a closed cell foam, that you have to roll up real tight, stick in your ear, and let expand. This is hard to do with cold hands, and when your hands are dirty, it makes the inside of your ear break out in pimples. The Howard Leight ear plugs are very soft on the outside, with a harder middle. You just jam the suckers in your ears and go. That easy. No rolling, no dirty ears, no hassle. They absorb sound just as good as any other plug. I've been using them for over a year and I love them more than any other earplug I've tried.
It also seems everyone else loves these plugs too. I'm replacing the dispensers every month. Everyone that comes in my shop takes a couple after they try their first pair. So far, six companies I know of dropped their current line of ear plugs to get these after they tried a few pair I had with me.
