Pros: Stunning Graphics and Environments, Great Variety of Items and Quests
Cons: Extremely High System Requirements, Some bugs, and Boring Battle System
The Bottom Line: Morrowind is a game that people accustomed to action games really wont like because of the cheaply done battle system. But if you like rpg's its almost a must.

| zerosparx's Full Review: Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind For Windows |
Morrowind is the third game in the series of the Elder Scrolls. Most veterans of the series, that have played the first two games will likely be rather pleased as Morrowind brings back the hack-and-slash element that the first two featured.
Graphics:10/10
Morrowind has very real looking enviroments, every plant is perfectly detailed. Landscapes however look the same and most dungeons have that caveish look to them. There is a good deal of variety in the architecture, houses by the sea resemble shacks and are rather small, houses more inward near the middle of the island look more like trees and are taller like skyscapers. Another thing to complement Morrowind on is its good sense of movement, every human move is real looking and most definetly motion-caputered. The Beast-type characters move with beast like movements, take the Argonian(lizard man)for example, wacthing him walk looks like what would happen if a lizard stood atop his back legs and walked about. Because everything looks detailed everything has a long load time, which means the Morrowind experience can be flawed by slow computers(such as mine.)
Sound:9/10
Morrowind features mostly sympohony music and the occaisional drums solo when you get into fights. I think the musical score is delightful but I think it lacks in variety, but since every piece is so beatiful it only hurts the sound a liitle bit. Some players might not care for symphony music and will turn it off and replace it with something more modern. Vocies-overs are exetremly well acted, except for the beast-type characters, most times when a beast-type character is portrayed in voice it often sounds like a someone talking with a sore-throat.
Gameplay:8/10
There are a hefty number of characters(races)to choose from, 10 to be exact. And there is an even greater number of classes for your character to be. I prefer the warrior type race and class, such as the orc or redguard. But while going through the first few hours of the game I decided to start over because my character was to weak. Eventually I started over 2 times to get a decent warrior character. Although the warrior type classes seem appealing, take my advice-be a spell-caster. Wizards dominate the battle field and if you can afford a strong enought spell you can blaze through the game. You control one person but you go up levels everytime your expericence goes past a certain point. Controls are the usual for the first-person view, using w to walk and s to move back and etc. Battling is a manner of clicking with your mouse really fast and can get boring if you get stuck in a certain part of the game. Although the battles are boring, thery really hard and could have use toning down. You spend most of time on Morrowind fecthing and running erands for a man named Caius Codes (If you choose to do the main quest.) Whats really neat about Morrowind is that you have complete freedom to kill or steal anything or anyone you want, although the aspect is killed by the almost invincible police.
Plot:7/10
I dont really know the plot but it really unfolds quite mysteriously. The only thing I know is that the End-Boss is someone called Dagoth Ur. But since I dont even know the plot and ive played the game for hours on end ill give it a 7.
