Pros: Inexpensive, easy to setup. Logitech Quality. USB interface.
Cons: Not a high quality imaging device. Software is lacking.
The Bottom Line: Dependable Webcam that gets the job done. Don't spent a lot of money on a fancy camera if you will not be broadcasting 24 hrs a day.

| rippedsofa's Full Review: Logitech Quickcam Express Internet Webcam |
I have had this Webcam for almost a year now, and have had no problems with it. Of course the images are poor in poor lighting. But in reading some of the other reviews about this one, I'm a bit confused. There is no lens shield, and mine didn't have any screws to attach the tripod. Perhaps the current models no longer have these features. I know only upgraded models have the lens shield now. As far as the tripod, it is a heavy duty rubber coated stand. The camera has a molded knob that snaps into the stand, and slides and pivots for aiming. There is a snapshot button on top, and has manual focus, done so by rotating the lens. The usb cord is about 5 feet long, and with a powered hub I was able to use a 6ft extender, but I only used this for a short amount of time. Some of the specs are as follows.
-resolution up to 640 x 480
-up to 30 fps at 320 x 240
-TIF and JPEG image formats(for snapshots)
Bundled software:
SpotLife Webcam and personal video broadcasting software
SpotLife Web Album Creator software
NetMeeting video calling software
I personally didn't like the software it came with, it seems to drain too many resources and affected the quality. I never even tried the game. I found aftermarket software with security features such as motion detector, with email alerts. Coffee Cup Webcam. It had no problems and drained very few resources on my computer. For me Logitech has been nothing but outstanding in any product I have owned from them.
