Pros: Receives both Satellite and OverTheAir HDTV
Cons: Adding Channels is clumsy.
The Bottom Line: Although Satellite sourced HDTV broadcasts are still in their infancy, the Dish 6000 receiver permits excellent reception at a reasonable cost.

I have had the Dish 6000 receiver for about a year. I have used the "Over The Air" tuner module for that time. Good reception of local channels. My local area has 7 stations broadcasting in HD. The Dish 6000 seamlessly connects to the local stations from the Satellite Interface selection menu. The only downside of Over The Air reception is that there is no program description available. Fortunately, you can check the satellite version of local channels and use that info for a guide.
It is a little bit tricky to initially load the local HDTV stations. There is a "scan" feature that will search for channels but it is necessary to perform some "clean up" after loading to make your guide menu look right.
I have just purchased the Satellite HDTV module that fits into the Model 6000. I called Dish Network on a Sunday evening to order the unit ($49 on sale) and received it the following Wednesday. My 13 year old son installed the module in about 5 minutes. The Dish Network people had already downloaded the software upgrade and so I was up and running. Reception from satellite is superior to OverTheAir. Unfortunately, there is not much HDTV programming currently available - - the Chicken/egg dilemma. The good news is that everything still works as it should and we have HDTV reception of both Satellite and Local Over The Air channels.
