I have had my snapscan 1212p for over 3 years now and i haven't had a single problem with it.
I've use my scanner for a number of projects, i scanned pages of books, photos, even my hand (just for fun).
PRO's:
the scanner comes with a software bundle which is very helpful and easy to use. the software offers a preview of what your scanning and if you want to scan certain areas of the thing you scanning. depending on the size of the thing you scanning it can take anywhere from 5 seconds to 1 and a half mintues.
very easy setup...just plug it in the back of the computer... turn the scanner on...install the software...restart your computer...it's the simple..
AH the price...is the best thing about this scanne at the time i bought it, it was about $99...but im sure the price has dropped somewhat.
and we can't forget the quility..i found that this scanner preformed very good in color test.. provided clear, clean photos.
CONS
there are a few bad things with this...and the number one problem is! SPACE!! it's not a small scanner...so before you go out and buy it...make sure you have enough space on your desk.. probably about the the width of your monitor. that should be more then enough space.
another thing is the cord that connects it to your comptuer is kinda short..so make sure you have room near your tower or desktop so the cord can reach.
i heard people talk about the tech support..but i never had a problem with it...so im not sure how the tech support is.
CARE of YOUR SCANNER
only use the power cord provided in the box...never use another one..
Never touch the glass...and if you do..wipe it with a very soft cloth....
there really isn't much you can do to break a scanner...unless you drop it.. lol..
OVER VIEW
it's a good scanner for the price...you should look into it...if your in the market for a scanner..
