Cloth or Disposable? Both!

Mar 04 '01

The Bottom Line Try both and see what it may offer to your baby and you.

Back when my son was in diapers, the disposable was around but pampers and a few others were the big hits. Our local supermarkets had their generic brands out as well.

Of course mom was on the belief of cloth, I was a new generation and wanted the disposable. I tried all the hot brands, but with no benefit. His skin just couldn't handle the fragrance. Then I learned it was the gauze like material that was in the diaper. So I began running around trying every type of disposable diaper I could find.

I tried the store brands and found that Shoprite brand was good. No fragrance. The gauze like material was more smooth then pampers. The cost was only $6 and that was great. So I picked up some of those liners you use for the cloth diaper, the ones that are to help you pick up movements and toss. I lined the disposable with that. There were no more rashes and he was happy. I was to, the price was right.

As for the cloth diapers I had accumulated I used them for burp rags, or for bathing or what ever the need was for him when needed. They were great for car trips. I would wet some and put them in plastic bags and dry ones. Then on the road I had them for use with his changes.

I suggest you use what works for your child and what will fit into your budget of money and time.
