Pros: durable, tiny world phone, nice design, vibrating alert Cons: SLOW interface, can't store email addresses in phone book, no WAP
The Ericsson T28w has been around for a while now, and you can get them very inexpensively both new and used (try eBay). If you need a compact, reliable world (GSM) phone and don't require the latest features, the T28w should do it for you.
Pros: tiny!, usable in Europe & parts of East Asia, light, clarity Cons: mediocre battery life, slow menus
Abstract:
Having actually used the GSM service in Europe & parts of Asia, I can say that it really is a "world" phone. Terrific size and decent clarity make it a good companion, but only so-so battery life and a sluggish interface.

Pros: Pros: Size, sturdy construction, ease of use. Cons: It doesn't display the exact time in call log, unless call made the same day.
(Oct 4,2001)
Now that is has been almost a year, I have met even more people who have complained about their T28W's having this problem (the SOS calls only) popping up on the screen. It does not appear that Ericsson has tried to remedy this....

I had been waiting for this phone to come out in the US for over a year ever since I saw the T28sc version in Taiwan and heard that a World version was coming out. Currently in the US, there are 2 small and light cell models worthy of consideration that...
Pros: Nice design, abundance of options, games included Cons: Came in with a factory defect - microphone doesn't work
My friend from Sweden brought me this phone and first I was really impressed with it, yes, it is a really small baby, easy to use and easy to carry around.

The Ericsson T-28 world phone is an incredible phone indeed... as a matter of fact, I am very impressed with the brand Ericsson. So much in fact, that this is my second Ericsson mobile phone.
My initial purchase of the T-28 world phone was...
Pros: Light as air, Excellent O/S, Dual Band Cons: None, so light and thin, you may lose it.
My only other cellular phone review listed on epinions is for my Nokia 6190, which is an excellent GSM phone. After 2 years of service, I finally found a better one. The Ericsson T28 World!
Pros: No cables means no xmas lights impressions (cable tangling). Cons: Doesn't handle wind well. The phone adapter pops off too easily.
I have been waiting for the first batch of Bluetooth applications for around two years. Imagine my disappointment when the first device I manage to acquire, an not inexpensive headset I didn't really need to buy while I was between jobs, was an...
Pros: Great size, great design, good reception Cons: Not as rugged as most cell phones
After signing up with Pacific Bell wireless service, I was given the choice of getting a Nokia 6190 or spending an extra amt. of money, and getting the Ericsson T28 World. First off, after looking at the phone, i was amazed by it's small size and cool...
Pros: Slim, Time your call, Vibrate & Ring, Remote control Voice Dial Cons: Easy breakdown, Huge antenna, Flip open itself. HIGH radiation
5 of my colleagues bought this phone in the past 16 months and all breakdown one after another. (So it is 100% fatality). Mine broke 2 months after warranty (Too bad! Chips and Battery both burnout altogether). Dealer told me to save money on a new phone...

The first time I saw the Ericsson T28 World and read about its features online, I knew that I had to have one. My previous phone was an analog StarTac 3000, and it was time to upgrade. I am a bit of a gadget lover, so I was looking for something small...
Pros: No wires. Welcome to the future. Cons: Can't find any yet...

Pros: Lightness, thinness, good reception Cons: Ugly color, short standby and talk time, potential flip problems
The Ericsson T28 World is a good phone and it has a equally good price. Offered on the Pac Bell network where I live, it is being sold for a very low price of $99. Compared to other world phones such as the $299 Motorola L7089, this is an excellent...
