I just got the 957, a Palm Killer!

by bsaitz , Aug 07 '00
Pros: Great screen, always email.
Cons: No WAP, PQA support (yet)
Having had the 950 for a while, I was looking forward to the 957 upgrade. I was not disappointed in any way. The 957 is thin, light, and has a marvelous screen. (It is better than palm, because it does not need to be pen-activated among other...

A no no without an exchange server

by computerplus , Nov 16 '00
Pros: If you have exchange
Cons: If you don't have exchange it's a waste of money.
I bought the Blackberry RIM 950 about 18 months ago, with all their promises about wireless email they fail to point out the one important point and that is Microsoft Exchange Server.

Blackberry does not support the Internet Addition, which...

Handy Wireless Email!

by gauldd01 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 07 '00
Pros: Wireless Email Anywhere, Anytime!
Cons: Bulky, Heavy, Slow
The RIM Blackberry or Interactive 950 Wireless Email Pager is a nifty device. The main feature of course is email anywhere! You can receive email at any time and then reply. The tiny keyboard is suprisingly easy to type on using both thumbs. A...

Its NOT a pager.

by lynn4 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 21 '99
Pros: A Convenient, Easy to Use way to get/send emails anywhere!
Cons: Addictive
It looks like a pager, although, it is as much like a pager as it is like a toaster. What does it do that makes it an essential item for more and more, well the short version is

- it is integrated with Outlook so that users can send and...

A Love Hate Relationship...

by jonas , Oct 19 '99
Pros: Sleek, sexy, and Michael Dell carries one.
Cons: It does not work where I need it the most!
I have a love hate relationship with my Blackberry pager. It came to me as part of an intracompany shmooze-a-thon. Turns out that our CEO is buds with the honcho over at RIM. So without even dropping a dime, I am up and running with Wireless email....

RIM Pager -- Not Worth All the Hype

by elec_tron , Nov 16 '00
Pros: high tech
Cons: price
Sure, the RIM pagers with Blackberry or BellSouth service looks like it would be great to have for making your life easier, but hang on a second. I returned my RIM pager about 2 weeks after I purchased it and I can tell you it was worthless. If you are...

Beats my Palm VII

by brianwilkins , May 25 '01
Pros: Syncs nice with PC. Good coverage in my area. Excellent support from Earthlink.
Cons: Problem with the cradle. Reliance on multiple providers (ISP, BellSouth, etc)
I switched from a Palm VII, which I had been using primarily for corporate email to the Blackberry 950 Internet edition. It definately pays to do some homework before you buy because there are a lot of options. I'm using the Internet version, which I...

Do you dislike the Blackberry, or your ISP?

by itsmilkor , May 01 '01
Pros: Small, lightweight, e-mail comes to you.
Cons: The smaller model is hard to read. I chose the 957 with the larger screen.
The problems experienced by the writer who said he didn't like his Blackberry and returned it after two weeks was not having problems with the Blackberry itself, but with the Bellsouth Internet Service Provider.

What he should have written was...

Great Product - needs some work

by amartinezfonts , Jun 29 '00
Pros: Keyboard, Jog Dial, Wireless Email!!
Cons: Size, Screen
I got a Blackberry through my employer, who paid for the unit and the service. Previously, I was using a Palm 3 that I had for about two years. I was pretty happy with the Palm Pilot, so I probably wouldn't have sprung for the Blackberry on my own. Now...

My two cents

by stevenjspinner , Jul 27 '01
Pros: Small, always on, always connected.
Cons: Too small to surf. Use a color pocket PC instead.
I recently read an opinion on the Blackberry stating that attachments could not be read, or attachments could not be forwarded. I do believe that in all fairness this is really not accurate. You can use Itrezzo.com to open attachments, send to fax...

Killer wireless devices

by pearcewg , Oct 24 '00
Pros: killer PDA/device
Cons: not much!
I currently am developing for and using 2 blackberry devices.
The first is the amazingly successful first popular model; the second is the new and (mostly) improved bigger screen/newer OS model.

Here are the key benefits:
- Awesome...

All you'll need - Palm and others need to wake up.

by cardoza , Jun 05 '01
Pros: Always "On" Always "Connected"
Cons: Two to choose from
Palm and others need to wake up, be creative and not just try and mimick the way we view the internet on a desktop.
This has to be the best all round unit I've purchased to date. I've had a Palm V and Palm M100, these units do everything but allow...

Blackberry is awesome

by wvenable , Aug 22 '00
Pros: Great Design and Ultra-Portable
Cons: No web browsing and no 3rd party apps
The blackberry is one the best designed devices I have seen in a long time. The device is just the right size for carrying on your belt; A larger device (like a PDA) is just to big to be portable. The keyboard, while small, is decent enough for such a...

BLACKBERRY=RASPBERRY

by bigredesq , Jul 26 '01
Pros: Size, Connectivity
Cons: Size, Inability to Read Attachments
Before you read my opinion, please bear this caveat in mind. I am writing this opinion, primarily with a lawyer, investment banker or other similar professional in mind.

I work for a large NYC law firm that recently gave Blackberries to all...

RIM Blackberry

by jdvh , Sep 28 '00
Pros: Easy to use, Nice keyboard
Cons: Does not run PalmOS
The RIM Blackberry is the best for wireless email. The unit is easy to use and understand. The keyboard is very functional and I am able to type about 40 wpm on it. The Blackberry has autotext feature that allows you to use a type of macro to type...
