| game_monkey's Full Review: Hughes Networks D1131 Single LNB DIRECTV System |
I bought this product because my current cable provider sucks. Some channels have the volume set to high and others are too low. It was particularly noticeable during sports events. Channel reception wasn't all that great either.
SO, I decided to purchase the hughes receiver. I have been really happy with the service plan, and my only complaint is that when it rains hard, there is no tv. For some reason they have not figured out how to make it work during bad weather.
This Hughes dish/receiver is nice, and compact. The setup screens are easy to use, and there is a feature to quickly jump to a set of favorites. You can also change languages on channels that offer alternative audio, much like you would for a DVD.
Many movie channels, including movies offered in letter box as well as pan and scan. Local channels in larger markets are offered for an extra fee, which is worth it.
Installation is not too hard, but could be a little easier.
