OF the many wireless products I have used, the Motorola PageWriter 2000 is one of the most astonishingly easy to use. It provides a simple usee interface that is both intuitive and verastile. The PageWriter 2000 is a two-way pager (a customizable personal messaging/email device) which lets you communicate wirelessly when you're on the move. The screen is large for easy viewing. Great features allow multiple inboxes with message
filtering software and customizable alerts to let you manage incoming messages non-intrusively.
The PageWriter 2000 is small enough to be worn on your belt. It has a 47-key QWERTY keyboard and onboard address book that make it easy to send messages. It can be enhanced via software upgrades and new applications, therefore protecting your investment and you can even write your own programs to use on it! The soft-keys are super nice to press and you can even get hooked on this.
Motorola's ReFLEX (FLEX) Protocol enables two-way paging with Confirmed
Message Delivery so you can be assured you'll always receive your messages. Not only that, but you can send an email to another person's phone, an automated voice reads it to them and then it will be confirmed that they received it! AMAZING!
The Display is super high resolution graphics display with backlighting makes it easy to learn and use; up to 9 lines by 27 characters of actual message area for ease of viewing messages. Memory is ample with almost 300K for your apps and messages. (Never been full yet.)
It includes powerful built-in applications for Message Manager (reading/writing/organizing messages), Address Book and extensive customization. Optional applications can be added at any time. You can add an automatic signature and your name to all messages sent.
The PageWriter 2000 also has an IR Data Port. A Deluxe charger may be used as a docking station for the pager when transferring data to and from a computer, e.g. uploading Address Book data to your PC as a back up or downloading new applications onto your pager.
You can also read news, stock quotes, weather, sports and tons of other information just linke on the pesky alphanumeric pagers. Alert modes are easily changed from loud, soft, vibe, and silent. A NiMH rechargeable battery and battery charger are included with the PageWriter™ 2000 two-way pager. The average battery life is one week; a battery can be recharged in one hour.
Just a few more important points: the pager weighs 6.7oz which is quite bit heavier than most pagers, and it is somewhat bulky (3.75 X 2.85 X 1.2 Inches). However, if you are willing to trade in the weight and bulk, it is probably worth the extra effort because this is one truly exceptional item.
