| MSaxby's Full Review: EchoStar 4700 |
I bought and activated Dish Network services early 1999. I have a dual receiver system one of which is the Echostar 4700. I bought the 4700 so that I could get the infrared remote and the capability to program the satellite receiver to record programs automatically. I have attempted to use this feature at least 10 times and it has only worked once. I have spoken with the Dish Net service rep and the dealer rep who sold and installed the system. I have been told to move the receiver, move the VCR, take the VCR out of the cabinet (which has a glass door) and take things off the wall. I am still having problems using the feature I paid an extra $100 for. It seems that unless both the lights in the living room are on the feature does not function properly. I have attempted to record overnight several times to no avail. My recommendation is that you consider not spending the extra $100 for a set that allows automatic recording.
