Alpine CD players not that hot !!- CDA 7930
Jan 03 '00
Some people say that Alpine has one of the finest quality products made. I somewhat agree, however I have found some faults in my Alpine CD player.
1- Does not read some self CD-burned discs. I think this is because the discs are not burned deep enough, however it works on some other home theater systems.
2- It is Fragile, I dropped it once in it's case, about 2 feet above the ground. Now I have to shift the face around on the deck in order to get it to work.
3- If the battery is disconnected even temporarily, all of the title memory and programming is lost. So you have to reprogram all of your stations, and any titling of the discs you did.
4- When I hit bumps on the road, sometimes the deck shuts off and I have to move the face around to get it to work again. This can be quite irritating when it happens in the middle of your favorite song.
Other than these problems, the functionality of the deck is excellent, it is very easy to control, and the remote is very simple to learn and utilize. Compact Discs move in and out easily, and the face is pleasant to look at. One word of advise, don't drop your (deck) face on the ground and you shouldn't have many problems.
