| flindingo's Full Review: Aiwa NSX-MT725 Digital Mini Theater System |
I love Aiwa, ever since I had my first Aiwa 10 years ago I won't go with anything else in my house. They make the absolute best stereos and this is the prime example. I have the Model 720 (same as the 945 just 1 year older), and it is amazing. It blows the walls down when it's in my DTS DVD player. First of all it has great bass boost, BBE (For great sounding vocals), and an awesome equalizer to get full rich sounds.
The CD player is great, it plays my torn up CD's that have had much abuse over the years, and the tape deck records and plays back crystal clear. The best features on this have to do on the back of the player, the inputs.. This is where it beats the other systems hands down. All systems have 1 extra input on the back for "Video/Aux", well that's fine I can plug in my DVD player, but when I want to play my Dreamcast I'd have to switch it... But not with the Awia! They have 2 extra inputs "Video/Aux" and "MD"!! Now I have 3 different channels!! This alone can be a great selling point, but the main reason I picked this model out is for it's surround sound.
I checked every single model by every brand I could find in at least 10 stores and online. I buy the best, and make sure I don't pay too much. Many Stereos now have the whole surround sound system, whoopie. What makes the Aiwa better? Well if you look on the back of all them they'll have 2 inputs (Right channel/Left Channel). That's for the old style of surround sound, where it needs to try to decode it and make it work in all the speakers, its ok but not great. My DVD player has 5.1 out, meaning it has an output for each speaker, and I bought that DVD player just for this Stereo, and this stereo likewise. This stereo has 6 inputs for the Video channel, it has one for each speaker and an extra for the .1 which is a Subwoofer (not included). With this and a good sounding DVD movie, you'll be rocked! It's amazing how clear it is. The Stereo doesn't have to decode anything it's all sent to each speaker individually, it's great for watching big special effects flicks, or re-mastered originals. It sounds amazing! And it's under $400!!!! Better quality than a high priced surround system costing $800+++.
I was amazed to find out that the other surround systems didn't have the 5.1, only Aiwa. But actually I wasn't surprised they've always been ahead of the game, and they're products live up to they're name very well.
It also has optical out which is awesome if you have a Minidisc recorder.
