As compared to cable there is no comparison it is cheaper and there are more channels. Picture quality is far greater then that of cable. Now you say it is hard to hook up and i say no it is not it is very simple it has on screen instruction for pointing the dish. The channel guide is all on screen you can find out what is playing 60 hours a head of time just by pushing a button. It is dolbey digital surround sound compatibly and it has a s-video jack for high defintion tvs. I recommend it to all my friends.
