My my my, after owning a 27in JVC TV for almost 10 years, with only one speaker, the Sony Vega is an amazing improvement over it. Stereo speakers with SRS and TruSurround simulated surround sound, two-tuner picture in picture, not to mention 32 inches and flat!
This TV can do it all. With three sets of video inputs in the back (one composite video, one component video, and one composite/s-video) plus a set of composite/s-video on the front (easy acess for a camcorder), plus a cable TV and a Cable TV Box input, you won't have to worry about buying too many components.
As for the video, I have to say, I have watched DVD's and Digital Cable (equivalent to DBS), and I am never going back to VHS if I have to, or to normal cable. The picture is amazing and crisp. The flat screen also makes it distortion free, and easy to view at any angle. And there is no need to worry if the screen is too dim or too bright. There are different video settings, where you can customize the color, brightness, sharpness, Trinitone(R)--which adjusts the white level, and Temperature--NTSC standard, medium, and high, so that you can watch TV comfotably in any light level.
The included remote is very easy to use, and you can program it for your cable box or DBS system, three VCRs and a DVD player, with all of the needed buttons (even for DVD) on the remote. It also comes with a handy "joystick" button that allows for easy menu selection.
The only word of caution, well actually two, is first: This is not a cheap TV. ranging between $1800 and $2500, it will set you back. Sony recently released smaller 27in and 24 in models, both of which I belive MSRP for under $1000. So if you want the excellent picture quality and flat tube, but don't need the size, you may want to look into these more.
Also, this unit weighs 176 pounds, so make sure you buy a strong table or TV stand to rest it on, and opt for whoever you are buying the TV from to deliver and install it for you, trust me, it will be worth it.
