Pros: Originality of levels and weaponry; speed of gameplay

| JMC's Full Review: Unreal Tournament for Windows |
I've played first person shooters that suck. Then I've played Unreal.
Y'all, they don't even COMPARE to this! First, online play in several ways from the start is cool. Second, you can NOT tell an avid fan that it sucks. Let's compare: Quake 3 is able to use on a lot of comps, but it just doesn't have the looks to back it up. Unreal, on the other hand, looks incredible on most modern day gaming comps, but is barely operational on some early models.
But what Unreal lacks in compatibility, it MORE than makes up for in gameplay. Since the game is 90% strategy and 10% shoot-em-up, it's more than enough to keep most fans wanting to frag their next opponent, be it someone from Beijing or a computer foe. Consider, also, that the weapons (which include among other things a sniper rifle, a flak cannon, a shock rifle, and a 'ripper' blade shooter) are original to the point where the Army wishes it had such weaponry, and the concept of the public watching as these fights occur, and anything goes! It's very involving, and unless you don't have your own copy, you're gonna be playing nonstop for some time.
I wish the scale had a "5 or above" option, cause I'd give this game a rating beyond comparison!
