Nifty Gifty

Buying things for teenagers is so difficult these days. As soon as you get it home it is no longer in style!! My solution to this is...Gift Certificates.
Most stores now offer gift certificates in various amounts, and this gives teenagers the opportunity to choose their own preference of a gift. Music, clothing, video games, they can be hard to exchange at the store, and why spend $40 on a video game only to find out someone else bought them the exact same gift ?
And some kids are picky about the style of clothes they wear. It just seems like that gift certificates are the best way to go when shopping for teenagers. Unless you are just getting a "gift to give for no special occasion gift." Then you have a better chance of getting something the specifically would like and want.
It is not as personal as taking the time to pick out something yourself, (even though you did have to go get the certificate) but it saves time having to return or exchange something, and also the risk of getting something the person will never use.
Giving teenagers the option to choose things they enjoy, be it music, clothing, movies, or just "stuff" as my son puts it, makes them feel responsible for choosing their own style and individuality, not what someone else thinks they should like.
