What All Teen's Want From A Teen's Point Of View
Nov 18 '99
Ok...well being almost the holiday season once again (another month), I figured it was time to think of gifts I'd like. And for all you parents or anyone looking for a present for a teen I'm here to help you. First off, Money...Money ALWAYS works!!!! Preferably if you are a real social teen, you can't have enough money. A good amount is like around $15-$20. Thats a good solid amount and nobody can complain. Another would be computer related stuff, especially if you are interested, even slightly, in computers. Some kind of computer thing, like a game or something? What type of game depends on the person. And for more info on that I suggest checking out gamespot.com or some other video game resource. Oh ya! And another BIG thing that everyone wants...MUSIC!!! CD's!!! Works EVERYTIME! I don't know what to say about this, it can be a challenging gift to buy. I'd suggest listening to the type of music your teen listens too in the car or in his room or something, or asking his or her friends what kind of music they (as a group) listen too. Mabey keeping your ears open to responses that the kid makes when watching MTV, like "YES! I love this song!" or something. CD's are great, I'd suggest checking out www.cdnow.com or something for that. Or a local store. also CD player if a kid doesn't have one, those are great to have, listen to music wherever you go around the house or whatever. Another good type of gift is little gadgets your kid might like. Mabey a pocket knife or a pair of shades or something? Little accessorie gadgets are great. Like mabey a SwissArmy knife? Or switchblade of some kind (I know that's what I'd want! :) Or a watch!!!! If your kid or teen doesn't have a watch that's a GREAT gift to get! Because you're always having to meet your friends, or meet your parents at a certain time and can't really tell how much time you have left, or whatever, to do something you want to do. I know that used to drive me crazy always saying, "Dude, we better go back because I have to meet my parents at 5:00" and always getting there and having it be 4:30. Good watches to get are Fossil's!!! Those are the coolest watches ever!!! A little tip on watches....get an analog watch...not a digital. Because as you grow older you find that Digital watches are sorta lame. :) I went watch shopping a few months ago and found myself not the LEAST bit attracted to any of those digital watches, when like 3 years ago, that was all I wanted. If you would like to get one BIG present or something, that might cost lots of money...a good one is something like a Guitar, or a computer, or stereo or something. Guitar is a good one if you would like to pay for lessons every month, or you could just have one and have it around the house, it's good, you pick it up every now and then and play around with it, best if you get lessons though, like right when you get it so you have some basics and can latter on know what you are doing. And that concludes my suggestions on Gifts for teens. :) I hope it was somewhat help full (actually I hope it was, "Very Useful" but you know... :)
