Nifty Item

I saw these for the first time in Germany. At that time we had no children, but I still stopped and stared. What a nifty idea.
The best use I've seen for this item is for an active young child who is getting antsy with the confines of a stroller, but is energetic enough that a certain amount of restriction in public is desirable. This fits the bill.
In Europe, I saw people use them in just this fashion. Walking down the street, at the fest, at the Christmas market, anywhere and everywhere. The child either pedaled while the adult kept control by holding on to the handle, or when he was tired, the adult pushed the trike like a stroller.
I haven't seen them used in this manner here, but I love the idea. I'm not sure there is much point to using the handle as a device for helping a young child learn to pedal a trike. Pedaling is a developmental motor skill, when you're ready, you're ready. I don't imagine it would be harmful to use in this fashion, but I personally don't see it.
I like this item. I think it can be fun for the child. I don't think you can go wrong with something that keeps the child happy and allows the parent to keep the child safe in public.
