What if he WERE older!?! So what!?! Four or five isn't too old to be carrying a lovey; crying from disappointments and/or boo-boos; having his meat being cut for him; being carried by Mommy; etc.
Why do people become so uncomfortable with shows of emotion and with allowing ourselves to become vulnerable and needy--at ANY age!

While my (just) turned 3 year isn't anywhere as well spoken he is very big and we still recieve the same looks(stares) and comments. Thank you for writing on this subject! Good to know there are others like us out there!
Keep up the great work with your son, he sounds very gifted!

.....with my son. He turns 3 next month and most people think he is 4 or older. We get the diaper comments a lot. I just wish if people feel the need to comment, to NOT do it in front of him.
