First of all, this hotel has no affiliation with the Ritz Carlton hotel chain. This hotel was founded by Cesar Ritz over 100 years ago. It's located at 15 Place Vendome in the first arrondissment.
Pros: Best location in Paris: Place Vendome. Great hotel restaurant. Cons: Expensive. The regular rooms are small (upgraded rooms and suites are *very* expensive)
The Ritz might well be the most famous hotel in the world. For sure, it's the place to stay in Paris, both in terms of prestige and in terms of the address. The hotel is right on the Place Vendome, next to one of the main government ministries...
You get what you pay for -- snobbery. This place was ridiculous. My wife and I went to check it out to stay while we were in Paris, and I don't know that I've ever had an experience like that. Snobbery, yep, snobbery!
