My Kids Think My Stuff Is Porn (Manly Writeoff)

by Joubert Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 14 '03
Pros: Some wickedly funny humor and cheesecake photos...
Cons: ...that are not for the easily offended or overly sensitive PC crowd
Think of it as the old Spy magazine written by a bunch of frat boys who have not managed to b ...

I Have Found Better "Stuff" in the Bottom of a Garbage Can

by Bryan_Carey, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Feb 25 '04
Pros: Photography is good; Certain product reviews are helpful
Cons: Aimed at very young male crowd; Lame humor; Stupidity
Stuff is a monthly publication brought to you by Felix Dennis, the same man responsible for the publication of Stuff’s sister publications, Maxim, Blender, the Week, and Maxim Fashion. Stuff is a magazine geared toward young men, just like Maxim. ...

Stuff: Exile In Guyville

by Lambira Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 07 '00
Pros: A watered-down version of Maxim with no real point of difference. Was that a pro?
Cons: Um, what I said up there.
This is the third in a sporadic continuing series of ‘He Said, She Said’ magazine reviews between myself and Mgreber. When you’re done here, check out what he has to say about this magazine, because he’s a guy and I’m not so what the heck do I know...

Stuff: Splitting the Maxim Dollar

by mgreber Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 07 '00
Pros: Half-naked women, cheeky articles
Cons: All this and more is done better at Maxim
This is the second installment of the "He Said, She Said" magazine write-off between myself and (newly appointed magazine expert) Lambira. The premise, as it were, is that we each review the same magazine on a semi-regular basis, providing two...

I LIKE BOOBS, and Stuff

by mattjoe Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Apr 02 '01
Pros: Pretty women pictures
Cons: About 25% is actually funny
47 pages of advertisements. Many of them two page ads for the same thing. This is just shy of a third of what makes up STUFF magazines 170 pages. But what is in the 120 something other pages?

Boobs, and stuff. Which is what the magazine should...

Fun STUFF!

by Aplease , Oct 03 '00
Pros: Fun magazine, witty yet professional at the same time
Cons: May be found offensive by some

***I would advise young adults and not people younger than sixteen read this magazine. While the pictures are not nudes, they are pretty close to it. Furthermore some of the language and articles are of an explicit nature.***

STUFF...

Garbage!

by Talisman , Nov 27 '00
Pros: you can recycle it
Cons: it was ever printed
Please note, this epinion is not meant to be read with young children around

My husband got a free subscription to this magazine. Each month it arrives and it goes almost immediately right into the trash.

This magazine is...

20% photos of pretty girls, 80% moronic attempts at humor

by lousygolfer , Nov 21 '04
Pros: Contains lots of photos of beautiful, scantily clad women; subscriptions can be obtained for free
Cons: Absolutely no substantive content; moronic attempts at humor in every single paragraph.
1 1/2 stars. I have a long (at least two, possibly four year) subscription to Stuff. However, let me state for those of you who are intelligent, reasonable people about to look upon me with scorn, all I have paid for this subscription is the time it ...

Stuff is great stuff...

by caconti Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 18 '00
Pros: Great product recommendations for guys
Cons: Sexist and silly at times
An expansion of the frighteningly popular Maxim magazine, Stuff For Men is billed as a shopping and living guide for "men's men". Being more a lover of shopping than of testosterone, I wondered how well this publication would serve me. Since...

STUFF's OK

by bibbygreen , Dec 28 '02
Pros: Some good and funny articles for the guy.
Cons: Some of the articles can be offensive to women.
My Fiance has had a subscription to Stuff for a few years and I've always had the usual stereotype, that the magazine is sexist. I was almost all ready to make him give it up when it expires next March, until I read a copy of it yesterday.
While he...

The worst of the best

by seacow Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 23 '03
Pros: Lots of beautiful women
Cons: Not really enough substance to qualify as a real magazine
Title: The worst of the best Have you ever heard someone say that they read Playboy for the articles? Reading Stuff for the articles is kind of like that, too. Stuff is very heavy on the women, heavier on the ads, and tends to have short articles. ...

STUFF I DON'T NEED OR WANT!.

by BR-549.5 , Nov 04 '01
Pros: It's easily disposable.
Cons: Innocent trees were killed to produce this dreck.
It must have been some time around six months ago when a free subscription to 'STUFF' magazine started showing up in my mailbox.

New magazines frequently give away subscriptions to prospective readers in the hope that they will become regular...

Look Honey, My Bound Copy of This Months Advertising!

by jestmeister , May 27 '03
Pros: Once in a while a pearl of humor is discovered.
Cons: That pearl is surrounded by crap.
Stuff Magazine, heh, what a rag.

I'm actually an ashamed subscriber to the aforementioned magazine, and I hang my head in embarassement. Having been a previous subscriber to Maxim, but cancelling due to it's repetitive nature, I was thrilled...

Sex Sells!. . .and I'm buying.

by ljrunner , Mar 16 '00
Pros: Fun to read, great articles, awesome TASTEFUL pictorals
Cons: Too many ads, too much of a "fashion" section
First off, let me say that if you do not like Maxim, don't even pick up this magazine. The magazines are so similar you'd think they were produced by the same parent company. . .hmmmm ;)

On the other hand, if you are a Maxim fan like I am,...

Take Maxim, cut it in half and add water.

by Illusionary , May 17 '01
Pros: The same gorgeous girls of Maxim, and the same witty writing style.
Cons: It's a chaser to the shot of Maxim magazine.
That is the general recipe for Stuff magazine, but don't get me wrong I still love it. Stuff is the poor man's Maxim, a cheaper magazine with less issues, but generally the same content, it's like the edited for TV version of an awesome R-rated flick....
