Thank god I found this forum
I was just getting ready to order from Best Price Camera and thought I'd do a search on the net for the company to see if there are any opinions or BBB reports. Thank god I did. And I thank all of you for your post on here! I am just slightly disappointed to not get the camera and mostly relieved I didnt waste my money! Thank you!

Best Price Cameras
The company does th bait and switch. The have high- pressure salesmen that lie about what is exactly in the items included, then sell you upgraded batteries, lens, etc... The salesman said, I have a deluxe package deal, maybe I can still get you in on it, since you are a first-time customer. I ordered a Sony Handy Cam on 7 Feb 2008 and they said it comes with a 2-hour battery, but if you get the deluxe package deal I can get you a 5-hour battery. We'll I only recieved the original battery that comes with all Sony Handy cams, battery model# NP-FP60. Plus my shipping box was missing a hand cam station, remote control, AV cables, USB cables. When I called back, another sales Rep said, you do not get those items because they do not come in the Sony box. I told him those items are listed as "included items right on the Sony Handy cam box. And the other customer Rep I spoke with 3 days ago checking on the missing items said, yes you should of also recieved those items. Then the sale Rep. put me on hold. So I asked the Salesman why I got only a NP-FP60 battery, he said normally you get a NP-FP50 battery in the Sony box. That was a total lie. The NP-FP60 battery is listed as an "included item". Anyways, the customer Rep. said to send my camera back and list the missing items. So I sent the camera back Best Prices Warehouse. As soon as I did that, then I filed a complaint with the NY BBB., I told them about how Best Prices Camera lied about the battery and the 4ea missing items that should of came in the Sony box. I told the BB. I want a refund. So I will be awaiting an answer from the BBB as soon as they contact that company full of liers. What a headache, but it is not over yet. |

RE: Best Price Cameras - SCAM
Bait and switch - was buying a camera they were advertising through Google ad words for a low rate. Two days after ordering I got a call to confirm the order and they said it was back ordered AFTER I told them I didn’t want to upgrade to one of their much more expensive packages. That it would ship out in the next "few weeks". I called again today (a week after ordering) and they told me my order had been cancelled and got really aggressive with me. A guy named Victor threatened me, was swearing and yelling at me.
All I wanted was the camera I bought online at the price I specified. I went onto the site and the product is still listed as available...
Wow - worst experience ever online.

Phew, glad I found this thread
I am looking for a Nikon D300 and 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 VR lens. These guys are offering this kit for USD $1759.00 including free shipping. The D300 body alone anywhere else is $1799, I thought this price is too low for comfort so decided to google first. Everybody is saying bad things about this place, not a single positive remark, and all cite the same story of switch and bait, pressure selling of overpriced accessories and very rude and insulting sales persons who hang up on you. Then I decided to explore one step further and called them by phone. They were very dodgy, albeit polite and kept addressing me as "sir." They sound as though they have a stopwatch or time counter when they talk to you like these TV shows where you have a few seconds to answer otherwise you are out of time! I asked for a store pick up in NY but they said it was strictly mail order only!!!! At that point they hung up suddenly without allowing me time to respond. Why would a store refuse someone offering to save them the shipping cost? It doesn't feel right to deal with these guys. The price is very tempting but I don't think they would ever deliver. Like a poster mention earlier, in con languange, this is commonly known as "Selling Someone A Dream." |

The worst internet buying experience in my life!
These guys are very, very sleazy. Stay away - stay very far away. I read this entire thread and I can tell you that no one sounds like they are exaggerating one bit. I was fortunate to have cut my purchase off through American Express - but the entire experience was a gigantic headache that went on for several days. Avoiding scenes like these is why you deal with reputable business and pay more. |

Stay away from Best Price Cameras as well as J&K Cameras & EnterprisePhoto.com
On Dec. 27, 2007, Best Price Cameras salesperson Jeff at Ext. 258 blatantly lied to me and sold me a false bill of goods. While he was up-selling me from a Sony HDR-SR8 (priced at $799) to a Professional Package (priced at $3,000 which includes multiple accessories as well as an extended warranty), he stated that certain items were valued at a specific dollar amount. Upon receipt of these items, I checked the Internet to find that the items that I actually received could be purchased “Brand New” at less than 25% of Jeff’s quoted price. It is clear that I overpaid by at least $1000 for these upgrades. In addition, two items were missing from my order.
In an attempt to resolve this matter, I have experienced nothing but aggravation. On multiple occasions, for over 30-minutes at a time, Jeff and the other sales people have placed me on hold waiting for customer service and then ultimately I am disconnected. In addition, via email, I have attempted to resolve the matter amicably by offering the following two options: OPTION 1: Simply reduce the charge from $3,000 to $2,200 and supply the missing items from the original order. OPTION 2: Return all merchandise contingent upon a Return Authorization Number with Pre-Paid Postage plus 100% Refund of the $3000 and no $300 Restocking Fee. However, each time that I contact the organization via email, their response is that I must contact the customer service via the telephone. Unfortunately, there is no customer service…just unethical sales people who hang up on you. My bank has told me to submit a claim and return the merchandise. So, I do plan to submit a claim; however, I am not going to blindly return the merchandise without Best Price Cameras’ agreement to the terms of OPTION 1 above. Moreover, I don't even have an address to which to send the merchandise. After the fact, I have since found that Best Price Cameras is notorious for this type of fraudulent behavior. According to the customer complaints on the Epinions website, Best Price Cameras also does business as “J&K Cameras” and “EnterprisePhoto.com”.
It is clear that Best Price Cameras grossly exaggerated the value of the upgrades (e.g., the quoted $250 8-hour lithium battery can be purchased for less the $100, the quoted $200 Wide Angle Glass Lens can be purchased for less $50, the quoted $200 Telephoto Glass Lens can be purchased for less than $50, the $149 Deluxe Hard Case can be purchased for less than $100, etc…). In addition, I purchased a 5-year extended warranty for approximately $350 but received a 4-year extended warranty. Sales person’s response was that you have a 5-year extended warranty consisting of the 1-year manufacturer’s warranty plus the 4-year extended warranty.
On February 21, 2008, I submitted a complaint to the NJ Attorney's General Office. If you have experienced a similar situation, I encourage you to submit a claim to your state's Attorney's General Office. |

best price is not nice
We recently searched online for a digital SLR and found Best Price Cameras to be the cheapest. When we bought we figured the prices were due to online buying with factory direct discounts. We ordered and were emailed a short while later with a conformation number.
A week later we have not heard anything or received anything so I went online to obtain their phone number. While on their site I noticed that for $40 more we could upgrade to a better camera. I called and told the salesman that we have not been billed nor has a camera been shipped so I would like to upgrade my purchase. I then asked for the next best camera. The salesman said he was the manager then told me that both of the cameras we asked for were the international version. He said that they were backlogged and that they came with nothing, not even a manual. I asked how much the US version was and he gave me a price hundreds higher than before. I told him I just wanted to cancel my order as this was not explained earlier. He became short with me and said his deal price (hundreds higher) would be gone as soon as I hung up. I said fine please cancel my order. He then told me that we ordered a camera and would have to pay a $113 cancellation fee as stated in the terms. I told him fine and he said to call customer service and hung up on me.
I researched the terms and it said nothing of the $113 fee. It did say if you return a camera you would have to pay a fee but I never got one.
I called customer service and the guy was polite. He said he would cancel my order for no charge and gave me a cancellation number. I asked for an email and he said ok. A few days later no email.
I have yet to receive anything in writing stating my order is cancelled. They state things such as it must be in my spam filter and they will not resend it. They also refuse to mail one by U.S mail. I spoke to a different rep. Lloyd who could not locate my order by my cancellation number and gave me a totally different number. The first was CAN *** the second was CN ***. I believe they're making this stuff up and if I called tomorrow and gave them either number they would not be able to trace it to our order.
I have never had to deal with stuff like this before. I would like to think this is a foreign business but sadly they are based at 1938 McDonald Ave. Brooklyn NY. I can imagine this is a fake address. You can't cheat this many people and post a legitimate location.
It is a shame that places like this exist and even more so that no one seems to be able to put a stop to it. I plan to find out how to best deal with this place and will follow up. I encourage all to do the same.
I'm sure this company is well aware of what they are doing and have no plans to stop as long as they are making money.

Bestpricecameras.com is very poor company
Everything you read about them here is true from my experience. Rude, ripoff artists. I am from New York, born and raised, so I recognize the kinds of characters I dealt with. They had the 'best price" but after that nightmare after nightmare after nightmare. I am so tired of even thinking about the transaction and these people, I am just going to leave it at that. CAVEAT EMPTOR times 10. For those of you who don't know that Latin phrase, it means BUYER BEWARE |

BUYER BEWARE!
STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! I think they operate under several different names. You can check you tube out under Broadway Photo. I don't know if they are the same company, but was treated exactly the same by both! I was recording the call and was hung up on 3 times, because they will not allow you to record the call! If they are legit, than why would they care? I was called shadey, aggressive, and unethical, when there ethecs came into question! |

BestcameraPrices.com
I made a purchase at 8:00pm Pacific Time from this outfit. ($1099)
My friend immediately googled the company name and warned me. I called my credit card company and when they said the charge had not yet gone thru, I told them to cancel the card. Jeez, I wish I had checked first, but I am so grateful for this site because I got out in time. |

Most Dishonest Company Ever
I had an experience with this company where I was not out any money but they lied because they did not wish to honor there posted price. Last November I ordered a Nikon D-80 Digital SLR camera from this company.
The listed price was $209. This was $200 lower than anywhere else on on the web. I waited for over 2 weeks after ordering to call and find out about my order. After 3 calls to get through to their customer service I got hold of someone who was very rude about the situation. He told me they were out-of-stock and it would be 4-6 weeks before they would come in. I found it odd that no place else was out of the camera and after checking with Nikon America there was no shortage in shipping. To date I have not had my credit card charges, but I also have never received my camera.
I would encourage everyone that has had problems with this company to take a little time and go to the New York Better Business Bureau site and file a complaint against this company. I would like the New York Attorney General to begin a criminal investigation against this company for possible interstate fraud and credit card theft. I would also like to see possible FTC charges for false advertising and internet fraud. |

Here's my story
I was looking to buy a Canon S5 IS digital camera. Bestpricameras.com had the best price I had seen by far. I've always been a fearless internest shopper and I placed an order.
They apparently couldn't reach me by phone so they emailed me to call them for "verification". Ralph started out by telling me he could get me the "American" version of the camera for $100. more. He said the one in the ad had a plastic lens and all the writing was in Japanese, even though in their ad it was clearly in English. When I said I could get it cheaper elsewhere he dropped the price a little but then started pushing me to get an SD card, batteries and charger, a case, etc. When he gave me a total it was more than what he had first told me it would be.
Like a fool, I didn't question it then, or cancel the order. I was at work and didn't have a lot of time.
After two weeks I hadn't received anything and emailed them. Got no reponse. I called my credit card company to verify nothing had been charged. I asked them to block any charges from this bunch of thieves.
After reading the messages here about fraudulent charges, I cancelled my card. So hopefully that will be the end of this fiasco.
I ordered the camera from Newegg and got it cheaper than bestpricecamera's inflated price and got it in 3 days.
Lesson learned. |

How is this company not shut down?
I am amazed the BBB has not shut this company down (actually - one front company with a bunch of retail websites).
I first placed an order for a Canon G9 camera through Best Price Cameras online. The same day, I was sent an e-mail, and later a call to follow up on my order. They tried to upsell me on a 2- or 4-hour battery which I said I wouldn't need. "Chris" explained the battery on the current camera was only good for 10-minutes at a time (I had done a lot of research - so I knew this was a lie. Too bad I didn't research the company first like I usually do...)
When I declined the upsell... he quickly said the camera would arrive in 4-6 weeks (nothing on the site talked about back order and ship times longer than 7-10 days). I asked why... and he said it ships from "overseas." He hung up before I could get a word in... I called the next day to cancel when I had time and the shock had passed.
The same next day - I tried to order the same camera through razzphoto.com at a slightly higher price. Looked like a good deal... but I was about to go through the same thing again. I placed my online order and elected overnight shipping (beats 4-6 weeks). I get a similar e-mail confirming my order... but it used "razz photo's" logo and color scheme so I had no reason to think I was dealing with Best Price Cameras. BUT - I get a call a few hours later and it's Best Price Cameras confirming my order I placed through Razz Photo... WHOA... I was freaked.
They tried the same battery trick... added more money to the total than I saw online when I checked out... and told me it would arrive in one to two days, then they promptly hung up.
So... two websites... one company.... the same exact camera... different prices... and one was ready to ship in 4-6 weeks and the other was ready to ship that day. OMG... SCAM! Luckily there are sites like this. I started reading business reviews and cancelled my order again... this time they gave me a cancellation number at least... now I just leave it up to my credit card company to take them down if they try and charge me.
I am simply amazed a company can get away with this. But it's good for local business owners... I am going to support my local camera shop and avoid another experience like this one online! So every story has a happy ending... |

BBB
BBB has no authority to shut down anyone as they are not a governmental agency. They are in business to recruit businesses to become members and are 'for profit'.
They simply attempt to mediate a disagreement.
Not bashing the BBB, just simply stating they have no authority over anyone but their employees.

I agree... if you want to begin the process of shutting down a business you believe is operating unlawfully, contact the police in the city where the business is located. Be prepared to give a statement to the police and prosecutors, and you may possibly be called as a witness.
As for buying things online, I do it all the time with no problems. The key is to buy from companies you've heard of and never ever fall for a price that is more than 10 percent below what the item costs at a well-known Internet retailer. If Amazon or Costco sells a camera for $500, you will never buy the same thing from an unknown Internet vendor for less than $450. If you see it for less than $450, it's a scam.
My advice is to buy cameras and other nifty electronic items from the online sites for Amazon, Costco, Walmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's, Crutchfield or any other name that you know is a legitimate business. Personally, I prefer Amazon, Costco and Crutchfield. All three (especially Crutchfield) have great service after the sale, too.

RE: I Was Almost Scammed
I just ordered from them on Friday and on Sunday I got a call from Adam to confirm my order. He asked me for the 3 digit security code, and also offered to sell me the lithium batteries. Since the camera is for a friend who is coming to visit me from Europe I told him that I would ask her and call him back.
I should have known that there is something wrong, because everytime I called to ask a question about a camera before that, as soon as I asked about a product, the answer came immediately, as if they didn't even check the information in their system. Three time I spoke with someone, always a guy and every time they were very rude.
This morning I all of a sudden decided to go online and search the name of that company (which I should have done before)and I found epinions.com.
I called and made sure that the credit cards has been canceled and all the information has been transfered to a different account. I also made sure that they haven't charged my credit card.
At this point, does anyone think I can have problems with them besides being rude to me when I call to cancel the order? I think as long as they don't have an active credit card they can not do a thing. What do you think? |

more on best price camera...
Came across this "cheapest price" site:
http//www.diduprice.com
Was looking for a canon camera. They mentioned three "five star" sellers, best price camera, enterprise photo and amazon.
After reading this thread I realize that enterprise photo is the same, and this it appears "diduprice.com" is also a scam. |

Low Price Camera High Price Battery!
I called to see if the price for a Canon 30d was correct, was it plastic, why was it so much less than other places. The sales person said it was correct and only included the body and the lens cover. Great! That's all I wanted. I asked if I had to purchase anything else to get the camera. He said "yes you must purchase a battery and a charger. We do not sell the camera by itself." Okay, how much for the battery and charger? "Battery is $139 and the charger is $199" Was he kidding? "No" So when I said I could buy a battery for much less he said fine and hung up. Oh Well! At least I did my homework before buying! Don't buy from this company! |
