Juniper/Barclay
I have had a Juniper/Barclay account for over a year without any problem at all. I have not had any customer
service problems or any other irregularities. They are
a lot better to do business with than CHASE! |

Beware of Juniper Credit Cards
My father has one and two months in a row his payment (which was sent in 10 days prior to due date) was held and not posted til after due date and charged a late fee. He transfered to another company. Really you have to watch them all like hawks. They are getting rich off honest hard working people. |

I CANCELED MY ACCOUNT
I have not really had problems with their service but have been trying to get my credit limit raised. They offered to raise it by 5% so I canceled my card and will go back to using my CitiBank card. |

Customer Service Sucks
Barclay's / Juniper are liars and thieves. They charged me an over the limit fee and I was never over my limit. When I called and complained, they put a hold on my payment. After 11 days (8 working days) I called and read them the terms of service concerning holding of payments up to 5 working days. They closed my account and said that I requested the account be closed. I never did. |

Juniper/Barklay Bank of Delaware
I also have had a bad experience with this bank, through my Travelocity (TV)CC, issued by them. I made an almost full payment of my balance (>$5K) through my Credit Union CC and, even though I had viewed that in my CU transaction paperwork, it showed exactly my TV CC #, they credited the transaction to a CC, in which only the first 8 or so digits matched the one on my TV CC. Was this a human error? After reading some of the posts here, I'm starting to get nervous!!! |

Holding Payments
Here is my issue: I make a payment online and they take the money out of my account within 24 hours, but do not apply it to my account for 10-14 days, therefor my card runs out of available credit. Essentially, I get to use my card for 15 days or so a month. I make payments on it at least once a month and my payment history is flawless, but they could give a rats $^%.
The excuse I get is that they go by federal reserve guidelines and that for up to 10 days, the fed could take the money back. Don't know if it is true, but I have never had another credit card company do this.
I am dropping this card and going with someone else. Ridiculous. |

Juniper Bank Holding Payments
With regards to holding payments they also just gave me the same excuse... the Federal Reserve guidlines bologna. I have not had the card very long but I have never been late and therefore was surprised when 5 days after I made the payment they still didn't apply it to my available balance. I called them and spent nearly a half hour on the phone with multiple bad customer service reps that told me it would be at least another week before my payment would reflect in my available credit. So... they basically hold on to the funds for 12 DAYS...this is ridiculous. Closing the account because I have never had such poor customer service or experience with business practices like this that were devoid of common sense!
AVOID JUNIPER BANK... SOMETHIING IS AWRY... |

BEWARE: Barclays Bank of Delaware/Juniper Bank
Okay, here's one for ya... I opened an account with Juniper Bank (transferring a balance from another c.c. for a 0% limited time). I was never late making payments except for when I decided to consolidate my debt and pay it off with 1 monthly payment (Sept. 04). Within the next year my account was settled with payment. Two months ago I checked my credit report and Barclays Bank of Delaware reported to all 3 credit bureaus that I was Deceased AND I never paid them off - the full amount was charged off. My identity was not stolen - this is the only account that was wrong. I disputed to the credit bureaus after Barclays Bank assured me they would confirm with the bureaus that the account was settled and I was alive. They didn't!!! My disputes didn't get me anywhere. It's war!!! Be sure to check your credit reports! |

Juniper Bank are thieves
Why would ANYONE open accounts with an online-only bank? The fact that there are no physical branches for customers to visit when problems occur just screams FLY-BY-NIGHT DOTCOM SCAM ARTISTS! |

Juniper Barclays will penalize you for early payment
I made a payment a few days before the "statement date" (basically, I paid too early) so they credited my payment to the prior month (which had already been paid), and they say that the current month was never paid. They raised my APR from 8.9% fixed to 24% and hit me with late fees. When I called their customer service, the representative was so rude, and unhelpful they treated me as though I was not credit worthy. I have an almost perfect credit score, and am never late on my cards. They said there is nothing they can do, but offered to decrease my APR to 20%, this makes no sense because I get credit offers by mail with much lower APR's than that. I finally spoke to a manager, who was just as rude and unhelpful as the cust svc rep. I got onto Bankrate.com and found much better offers, I was just approved for 7.9% fixed, and am in the process of transferring my balance.
Do not consider Juniper/ Barclays- this is the worst company I've done business with. I strongly advise dropping this card if you have it. The problems will only get worse. My thought is that they are trying to get out of the credit card business. |

It is OK if you read the agreements
I have read all of the above with interest, no pun intended. I have had the card for several years, no problems. Yes, I once spoke to a CSR in Manila, but, she answered my question about international charges correctly. Yes, it may take a day or two to credit your account if you pay online, but it is much faster than mailing a check.
If you pay before that date due, it is credited to that
statement, if you pay later, it is credited to the next. What is hard about that?
And, just like is says in the agreement, if you take a cash advance, you will be charged interest even after you pay it off, depends of when you pay it. Read the agreement, you will pay interest on the advance for each day it is outstanding - if you pay it off in full before the date due, you will still owe a smell amount interest
on the next statement - for those days of interest not yet paid.
Read the agreement, you agreed to it - they have a right to enforce it. Jeez, what is so hard about that? Luckily, if you find a better deal - go for it.
If there is an honest error, just write to the the credit reporting companies, fast if done online, but, it has always worked for me.
I called Juniper, said I would cancel because I found a better rate, they lowered in on the spot - I stayed. |

RE: Juniper Bank Holding Payments
For the past 5 months I have been fighting a $39 overlimit fee that was to be waived but never was and each month they keep charging the #39 which keeps my accout over limit. I also pay with a money order that takes 14 days to post and has caused a late fee. When I call (even faxed over materials showing all dates of transaction) and asked why it takes so long for a money order to post since I always thought it was the safe cash to send and would be posted ASAP as all my other cards do, they responded, "because you may cancelle the MO. How can you cancelle a money order I asked? (Responce)- everyone does." I am in the process of cancelling my card. I am frustrated to no end by their so called customer service who by the way is also the manager in charge who never gives you help of any kind, can never aswer your question but will gladly give you a fax number that is nerver responded to. I aslo am compiling a file to send to the BBB and the Delaware Attoney General. We all must take a stand against this bad business practice or else it will continue to hurt honest, hard working peoples credit. |

RE: It is OK if you read the agreements
I agree "Read your Agreement" however, my account is paid with a money order (same as cash), several times have been received and posted before due date and still is charged a late fee $39. I have called and disputed and keep being told it takes 30 days. 5 months later still nothing. Another thing the agreement also states that all payments received by 1p.m. ET will be posted the day of reciept. I am currently overcharged $200 in such fees. I have filed all paper work asked for, shown every document needed and now I have had to contact a lawyer to help. I do not use this card anymore and have been advised not to close account until restitution has been made. We all can not be in the wrong when the amount of complaints are overwhelming. Be thankful that you are one of the few who is being treated fairly. |

Barclay credit card
I just received a Barclay card and the account is already being reported as a new account - 0 balance on my credit report. They may not be unusual..I am really nervous about using the card due to all of the negative complaints. If it were one or two I wouldn't worry. However, there are Many. My plan is to continue building positive credit. I don't know if that is possible with this Barclay card since payments are held and could be posted late??? I will have to think a while before I use this card..Too bad..I will continue to read posts and attempt to find more positive comments before I use the card... |

Unreasonible late fee
I too am in a current fight with Barclay. When I received my last statement there was a $39 late payment fee on my card. I went back into my records and noted that I had made a check payment 15 days (9 working days) before the due date, but they had not posted the payment until 5 days after the payment was due. I have called several times as well as emailed and they refuse to do anything for me. The keep claiming they can not control the mail. As I tell them, neither do I! After reading here I wonder if they were personally holding my check, since over the last year I have made check payments all within days of the 15th and never had a problem.
As soon as I have this matter resolved, I will be closing my account. (Does anyone have any contact info that has gotten them a response? I plan to fax papers to them this week, but I see that may not get a response!) |

RE: Stay away from Juniper/Barclays Bank
Absolutely agree!
They have the worst customer service I have ever seen.
Stay away from them. They screwed up everything but decline to correct. Customer service representatives are unprofessional and rude.
Call the business like BJ's to switch credit card partners away from this money sucking bank. Make the Suck barclays out of business!!! |

juniper credit cards
DO NOT UNDER ANY, ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GET ONE OF THESE CREDIT CARDS ISSUED AS PART OF THE BARCLAY'S "NETWORK" OUR UNCLE HAD ONE AND WHEN IT WAS USED BY SOMEBODY ELSE AND WE HAD A SECURITY ISSUE THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, NO TELEPHONE NUMBER, EMAIL OR ANYTHING ONE COULD DO TO CONTACT THESE PEOPLE???? THAT SHOULD TELL ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY JUST WHAT KIND OF WACKOS THESE PEOPLE ARE. EVIDENTLY THEY HAVE AN AWFUL LOT OF THESE CARDS OUT THERE BUT THEY DO NOT GIVE A RIP IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND THERE IS NO WAY TO GET HOLD OF THEM IN ANY WAY????
I SPENT A GOOD PART OF A DAY TRACKING DOWN BARCLAYS HOME SITE WHICH ITSELF DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO EMAIL OR CONTACT THEM. I GOT ONE EMAIL OF WHO KNOWS THAT WROTE BACK SAYING " SORRY YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE, SOMEBODY WILL CONTACT YOU BACK SHORTLY FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE" THAT IS AN ABSOLUTE QUOTE/UNQUOTE. FAT CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING BELIEVE ME. WE HAVE HAD TWO DAYS NOW AND NOBODY, NOBODY HAS CONTACTED US REGARDING THE ISSUE. THERE IS NO SECURITY DEPARTMENT TO CONTACT AND IF THIS IS WHAT "THE ENGLISH" THINK IS A GOOD WAY OF DOING BUSINESS OVER HERE IN THE COLONIES, SEND THEM THEIR BUSINESS, CREDIT CARDS, AND POUNDS OR EUROS WHATEVER BACK TO THEM. THEY ARE MUCH TOO "LORDLY" I GUESS, CHECK THE BOARD NAMES OF THE PEOPLE???? TO REALLY CARE ABOUT US AMERICANS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
ALSO LIKE MOST OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS WE NOW HAVE TO DEAL WITH ARE IN INDIA, PAKISTAN, NEW GUINEA, NEW MEXICO, ETC. ETC. DISMAL, ABSOLUTELY DISMAL. THEY ARE RUDE ARROGANT TO A TEE, TRY CALLING MICROSOFT, VERIZON, VIRTUALLY ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR ANY COMPANY FOR ANYTHING, WE VIRTUALLY DO NOT HAVE ANY US CITIZENS OR PEOPLE IN THE USA DOING CUSTOMER SERVICE ANY MORE. HEY WHOEVER IS LAST OUT OF THIS COUNTRY, WHICH IS STILL THE BEST PLACE AROUND, TURN OFF THELIGHTS, THE BEGINNING OF THE END, IS ALREADY HERE. THAT IS FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF ANYBODY HAS ANY OTHER WAY TO CONTACT THESE PIRATES PLEASE SEND THE INFORMATION TO THIS EMAIL POST THANKS |
