October Income Share

Income Share for October went out late this afternoon. You should be able to redeem by tomorrow morning.

First of all, the holiday season is upon us, and as always, we've increased the Income Share distribution.

Also, after many months of careful scrutiny, we've made some improvements to the IS process -- removed some inefficiencies, ripped out legacy cruft, and generally improved the flow of income share to eligible reviews.

We're interested in your feedback.

(FYI, Advisor Bonus, Most Popular lists, and Top Earning Reviews will be posted early next week.)

First I want to thank you and all for being interested in our feedback. It is evident in the way you have worked to make an assortment of issues priority, and many, all at one time.

In looking at my total IS I am very pleased with what I see. I am interested is doing some numbers crunching once the individual review stats appear. I do know however through conversation that you all have worked to make the distribution of IS equitable for long time members and those just hopping on the train.

For that I say THANKS!!

Did you try them "redeem" trick? From what other members have posted, you can sometimes bypass the server cache to see what your IS will be tomorrow.

The income share process is a baker's dozen of individual scripts (mini programs) that tie database calls with number crunching.

I started working on IS in January of this year. Prior to that, IS was a big, scary, abominable snowman of a process of which I was very afraid. ;') Remember, the IS process is over 6 years old. Things change, code gets crusty!

Since then, with help from various Epi Eng folks, we've got a very good handle on what IS is, how it works, and how it *should* work.

We're hoping these changes are beneficial to all members, new and old alike.

individual review earnings not showing IS

Hi folks,

As many of you have pointed out, income share shows up using the Redeem button, but it's not showing up in review hits pages. (You need a minimum of $10, I think, to use the redeem trick.)

The money showing up as redeemable is valid, but there was a hiccup in the process that displays the income share per review.

The money is there, it's just not showing up on the individual earnings pages.

We're in the process of getting this fixed.

Thanks Damon....really appreciate all the information you are putting out here... one question though, when I try to actually redeem the page doesn't allow me to finish the process and keeps going back to the original redeem page, it goes back and forth from the first redeem page to the one where your address is.

Working on it.

Zero??? I got zero?

I don't seem to have earned any IS for October. How does one go from earning a nice chunk of change one month to earning absolutely nothing the next?

I think the glitch lingers. I am not yet showing any gain.

Ummmmm... We are on different wavelengths there. The Redeem button only works if you have enough in your account to redeem. Y'all don't pay Movie reviews enough to really make that a regular thing lately.

IS earings-per review updated

As of 1:30pm Pacifica time, member earnings pages should show income share for October.

Redeem button should also work.

Please let us know if otherwise.

RE: IS earings-per review updated

I think there's a mass server restart around 8:30pm Pacific time. One or two may restart during the day, but once you're cached, it's hard to shake it.

RE: October Income Share

Well, I am one happy little camper, I got my IS, and while it is paltry compared to many, it is the largest ever for me. AND I had 70 reviews that have never paid before generate something. Only 13 of them were from October, so 53 reviews that were 0.00 are now 0.01 or better. March was my second best paying month this month. March....heh.

Anyone else have it rain on their desert roses?

Talyseon.

Damon,
You want feedback? Here's feedback. I hope someone gives you one big fat bonus check this year!

I've had months in the past where I could say IS is up--especially this time of the year--but I've never had a month that I've said "Holy Sh*t!" (In a good way).

IS distribution was broad across many more products and generally deep.

This motivates me far more than any promotion to crank up my writing and get to the slew of products I've been meaning to write about.

If this is something we can continue to look forward to in the future, I'm sure you'll hear less whining about trivial things.

First class job Damon!

Best regards,
Rudi
