Bring it!!!

I've already written 7 this month and got a couple more waiting in my mental queue.

All while I'm finishing up my Katrina novel, too!

RE: Updated: Most Prolific Writers

I feel so slow. I'm lucky if I crank out 4 or 5 reviews a month. My goal is to pass 200 this year so 60 more to go. That means I need to step up my usual pace to about 7 per month to 'git 'er done'.

I've decided that you don't have time for a real wife, and this spouse you speak of can only be a level 60 female character that you purchased on ebay.

Well actually...she works alternating shifts. Two weeks she works 7am-4pm, then two weeks she works 4pm-12pm. On those late nights, I have the house to myself. That's when I play all my 'stupid violent loud killing' games and watch my 'weird movies that nobody else would ever want to see'.

That I can type really fast.

Wrote the 8th one today.

Seriously...the total time spenting those 8 reviews is maybe 90 minutes. And that's being lazy. I write them nonstop from beginning to end, proofread, and post. Wham bam.

Burn out

I write my reviews that way but most take an hour at least. I am just way too long winded I guess. Then I read them twice. Then I have at least one open [b] without a closing one. Or my HMTL markup is wrong. Then I post it. Then I read it. Then I see glaring obvious errors. Then I update it to fix them. Then I reread it. By then, any error is invisible.

Maybe I am doing something wrong here. lol.

I think I really DO put way too much thought and time into a lipgloss or a website but, I dunno, I guess that's just me.

I did four or five in one day but that was when I wasn't working for anyone else that day and I could take the time and focus.

I actually find myself slowing down lately and almost burning out. I hope that isn't going to be a problem. I tend to be a go go go go go....Stop completely person.

I really hope that isn't what s happening here now.

Maybe just a long week is sapping me and I will be gung ho in a few days....I hope.

Patty

I've found I can go through a burnout period. It helps to take a little time off. You'll find a week or two away really does recharge the batteries.

Oh, I've done this...just did this actually :) But it is a good idea to keep taking notes on products you want to review OR even draft some notes to be turned into a review later. This is because I will finally come back and be motivated and not know what to review! That's horrible when that happens. But if you take a break from reviewing, and still casually think of what you want to review or what you would say, you'll find that when you are ready to write again it will come much easier :)

BTW - taking notes on a product and saving them on your computer or in a draft is a great thing b/c even though you might just note 3 or 4 minor things.... when you go to review a week or a month or even a year later, it will spark your memory. As soon as I think of ANYTHING I want to say about ANY product that I might or might not review, I note it someplace :-D

I find I do this on restaurants I visit that are not in the database. Some requests can take months to get and there were many I just never did write about because I just didn't remember pertinent facts I really needed to know when I was sitting down to finally writing the review.

Though it may seem strange, I happen to use one particular destination I have in draft and put notes there just to keep my Epinions info together until I have a URL to post to.

That's a good idea. I generally just use notepad and do it on my laptop - since I have my laptop at home and work, I almost always have access.

It's probably a short - have you spilled any liquids on or around your computer lately?
