Book Swapping
I joined www.eswapnow.com about 2 months ago and have become addicted to swapping.
Have managed to swap 5 books and 2 DVDs. It is strange though how you think that people will never request a certain item and that exact item is the first to be requested! Everyone is different I suppose. |

Paperbackswap.com rules!
I don't have anything but praise for this website. 100% free to join, great management, easy to use, etc etc etc. Thanks to PBS, I now have a giant collection (~100 books) in my world war 2 collection. I can't read the books fast enough. As I write this today, they have around 700,000 books in their "inventory". I pay less than $2 on average. You can't find this kind of selection and this price anywhere!!!

Well just make sure you review some of those books over here once you get them from over there ;)
I agree - PBS is a pretty cool site. And they are now launching a secondary site called swapacd.com for (you guessed it) compact discs. |

I really have to join one of these sites. I have a ton of books that I don't want. Romances, mostly, that my sister gave me. If anyone loves romances, drop me a line!

RE: Eswapnow all the way
Phungus tried to start one of these sorts of things up a bit back. I don't think it is really still going but it is a neat idea. We did exchange a video game at least:)
I've got a few things that I'm looking for but don't see them on the site--the CD one at least. I do have a few things I could swap though. Not tooooooooo much though (maybe a dozen books--only one hardcover).

Paperback Swap
Hi there! I have been a member for over a year now and am so addicted to this website. It does not cost anything to join and as I have been a member over a year, they still have not charged me anything to join. You can post paperbacks, hardcovers, and textbooks, and childrens books all as long as they have ISBN's. No ARCs are accepted but you can usually trade these in what we call games. (look in the gaming forum on that website)
I have met a few people that I trade with in person and they are super nice. Be sure to check it out and if you could please use me as your referral member as i'll get an extra credit. (JaneAustenFan) or Keri W.
Thanks so much and be sure to PM me once you sign on if you enjoy it! |

I'm checking on this but I've never paid to be a member of paperbackswap. It's a good place to get and give books but I prefer BookMooch. It's easier to earn points on BookMooch and it's a whole different atmosphere. I joined both over a year ago and have mooched something like 300 books and given 200. I like to look at and sometimes keep cookbooks, regency romances and other health related books. If I can't find what I want at the library and don't want to buy the book, I swap or mooch it. If it's something I like, I'll keep but if it was good info but not worth cluttering up my house with out it goes for someone else to enjoy. I read a lot of regency romances, averaging 1 every day or every other day, so these places save me money. Enjoy! |

RE: Paper Back Swap
I think things must have changed since 2005. Paper back swap is completely free. Somone else may have replied to the inital topic post re PaperBackSwap but I've been a member for awhile and was never charged anything. They just keep updating and making the place better. Anyway I emailed a leader there to confirm and Yep it's FREE. Hope you'll join as the more variety the better. |
