how to add FlyImage 5000 product ?
I'd like to get a Category Lead to add an item, a Wireless PC to TV Transmitter / Receiver called FlyImage 5000 so I can provide a first hand review. How do I get an item added ?
The item can be seen at:
http://www.pctotvconverter.com/flyimage5000.php
Here's the beginning of my review :
It works - sort of ! I've been looking for a device that would transmit from the PC to a large screen TV in the next room, wirelessly, and be able to be controlled from the other room - I found that product, it DOES work, but it's not entirely ready for prime time, depending on your needs. I still don't know why another company hasn't developed this yet with all the downloaded and YouTube type content on the computer you'd love to play directly to your TV without wires.
The device is made in China, it's called the FlyImage 5000 - you can read about it and even order it at http://www.pctotvconverter.com/flyimage5000.php .. the device is exactly as pictured on the box, $135 postage paid. Let me preface my review by noting that it didn't suit my needs and I'm returning it, but I was still impressed. User manual and installation guide are right there on the website.
The device easily hooks up - and I mean easy. You hook up the transmitter to your PC, and the receiver to your TV. Hookup options are many. For me, there's a pass-thru cord from your video card output that you put in between the computer port and your monitor cable. There's a small cable that runs off that pass-thru that goes to the transmitter. Another hookup to the transmitter is for sound and keyboard/mouse control on the remote - a USB cable once connected is recognized as a keyboard/mouse device and that same cable attached to your sound out. Here's the amazing thing about this device - there is no software to install, it's completely plug and play, and what you see on your PC Monitor is what you see on the TV - and you can control EVERY program from the TV in your living that you have on your PC. No other attempt on the market I've seen does that. And it's such a simple concept too.
The receiver receives the video signal and sound that is sent from the PC transmitter. This is the problematic part. It provides 4 different 2.4Ghz bands to transmit on. I had to unplug my 2.4Ghz phones to avoid interference. This is where the product needs tweaked and it's a perfect product. If only it transmitted over a more powerful source, wireless network would be nice, it would be so much better. As it was, text was not sharp and that made web browsing more difficult. I will admit I have an old 32" Sony TV in the living room, so perhaps your monitor quality set would have much different results. On the receiver, you connect to TV input jacks and you're ready to go - just turn both units on (they use plug in to the wall power adapters).
It worked first time. Once I figured out the 2.4Ghz interference, I was browsing away from the living room, full screen. The color was decent - not perfect. Reds tended to be a little more on the orange side in it's VGA to NTSC/PAL conversion. But as I browsed through family photos with slideshow on my Kodak Gallery web site, played |

Email me with the following info:
My email address is on my member page.
1. Name and description of item
2. Name of manufacturer
3. Link to the item itself on the manufacturer's website
4. Price paid
5. Link to an image of the item from the mfr's website or shopping.com (no store links, please). The image link should end in jpg or gif.
and I'll try to add this. The brand is new to epinions, which means I'll need to get epinions to set up the brand in there database, which takes anywhere from a few days to a few months, but I've sent an email to epinions requesting the brand be added. |

Wow!!!!!!
This is exactly one of the products I was thinking should have already been out there. If I can connect my PC wirelessly in another room, why not a TV? Sounds like they are making strides but still need to finish the race.
I was waiting for a video camera that used DVD's and, at the time, I found out Sony was in the process of making their Handycam that uses mini-DVD's. Its release was delayed and delayed, but at least it works very efficiently! Maybe the product of which you speak would have been better released after more testing.
It is akin to Virtual Server technology. They released it far too early and now people do not really trust it or have negative feelings toward it based on its roots. Pretty soon the cost savings it affords will have everyone using SAN's with VMware and VMotion with the few servers needed to support an entire infrastructure.
It is like companies are far too worried about deadlines rather than the quality of the finished product. I am guessing if you have a TV card on your PC, you can get that to work as well. All without running cables. This could kill the cable company's TV business if an on-line television service worked in concert with this product. |

cannot get the FLYIMAGE 5000 to work!
We have read your posted review and others online. We just cannot get the FLYIMAGE 5000 to work. We have it all hooked up right, but cannot get what is on my pc onto my tv screen. It also has shut off my computer altogether several times. The little booklet of instructions that was included and any online instructions are just real limited, especially for people that may be computer illiterate. But, who knows, maybe it is all a fraud, and the FLYIMAGE 5000 is just a pile of junk, and will not work.We e-mailed them several times for assistance, but never heard one word back from anyone, and still haven't! We feel as though we have been taken, and we do not know what to do. We were going to return it,but where do we return it to. We left e-mail after e-mail and got nothing from them in return, so it looks like we have a product that we aren't able to use or do not have enough knowlege about computers and electronics to get it to work, so it is just sitting on the floor by our computers in the box it came in. If there is anyone out there that can offer any help to get it working or in how to return it and get our money back, we sure could use it. Thanks. Jerry and Rita Jeremiah |
