HomeSports & OutdoorsBikesWhat Should I Know About Full Suspension vs Hard Tail Bikes?

Depends on what you intend to do

May 10 '00

It all depends on what you intend to do with your bike. Full suspension bikes are only good for downhilling, reducing movement to its minimum.

However, especially when going uphill, full suspension bikes give you more work than you would with a hardtail bike. Not only is the weight increased, but, when you work your bike uphill, you obtain unwanted vertical movement, making your journey uphill much more painful.

For downhillers, nothing's better than a full suspension bike, given that you have the money. For the rest of you who go mountain biking in trails going both uphill and downhill, you are better off with a hardail.
