Pros: Quiet, good-looking case. Front panel for easy access, well-designed, sexy. Cons: Some parts difficult to remove/replace, front panel LEDs may be an annoyance.
I am somewhere far left of computer nerd, I confess. I have dreams of dual processor systems and remakes of the Mechwarrior 2 computer game, splayed across a 50 inch LCD screen in all its giant-robot-combat glory (If you've never played this game, you ...
Pros: Deadly quiet, dead sexy, advanced cooling features, innovative drive bays Cons: No MB tray, makes you want to wax your car
So you've got your supermodel cases, which are great to look at but have questionable internals, and you've got your "she's a nice girl" cases, which are pretty plain, but beautiful on the inside. The Antec Sonata is the "perfect girl" case - ...
Pros: Quiet, well designed, style Cons: Keep the windex handy fingerprints love it
Upgrades can either be a fun experience or a nightmare. It was becoming the latter as I had not purchased a case in quite some time and was finding out that power supplies being included were not the norm but blinking neon lights are??(What are they ...
Pros: Silent, quiet. Amazingly well put together. Cons: A bit pricey but WORTH it.
I was on a quest to build a silent but fully-powered PC. On a tip from a friend I invested in an Antec sonata and am incredibly pleased with it! So much so that I actually bought one for a friend! First off, its silent. How silent? SILENT! Antec uses ...
Pros: This case is very quiet, has convenient front USB/audio, and easy to use drive mounts. Cons: "Antec" drilled in side, but the case is black, so you don't really notice holes.
Three months ago I put together a new computer. Until then, I had used Dell computers exclusively, which I found to be reliable, and quiet. I initially purchased a $70 case, but during my first week using it, several flaws exposed themselves - poor ...
Pros: Great looking, very quiet, nice features. Cons: No motherboard tray, "Antec" drilled on sides.
I was getting tired of my home built gaming rig sounding like a small jet coming in for a landing. I tried a few things that quieted it down a bit but when I need to get a new case anyway I thought I would let the experts do their work. My gaming case is ...
Pros: Easy to build. Pretty quiet. Good quality overall, especially for the price. Cons: Fairly generic appearing from the front. Inexpensive plastic appearance.
I first bought a Shuttle SFF case for my Athlon 64 3200+ project. It overheated (70+ degrees C). I returned it and bought the Sonata. Building the unit was easy and now I am enjoying a reasonably powerful, quiet PC that definitely does NOT overheat (max ...
Pros: Easy upgradeability -- easy to open, maneuver, add/remove components. Slick looks. Silent case/power supply fans. Cons: Doesn't eliminate all sounds -- users need to separately address noisy CPU/chipset/video card fans.
I bought this case expecting silent computing and got much more. The case looks beautiful, is extremely easy to work in, and makes upgrades a snap. My computer sits in my room, about 5 feet away from my bed. I needed a case that would not keep me ...
Pros: Quiet Case. Quiet PSU included. Looks sleek and pretty. Cons: Space is a bit tight inside. Possible overheating issues.
I received this case for christmas and immediately exchanged my computer parts from my other case in to this one. Installing the motherboard was tricky because of the limited clearance on the right hand side where the hard drives are mounted. Once ...
Pros: Reasonable price, good power supply, elegant design, convenient Cons: None
The other reviews pretty much say all there is to say about this case. Here are some of my personal comments: - AMD Athlon XP 1800+ w/ Thermaltake Aquarius II water cooling with radiator fan speed stepped down - fanless GeForce3 video card - Maxtor ...
Sonata: The Best Case by the Best Company by wames05 ,Sep 26 '03
Pros: front USB and Firewire, front audio jacks, QUIET! 380 True Power supply included
Cons: Front panel doesn't always close evenly, finger prints show easy, those are only minor problems
Antec has always been known for top quality cases and case components. They go to a whole new level, however, with their Sonata case. The case is designed for maximum quietness, and talk about quiet! I can't hear anything except my video card, but it has always had a really noisy fan because I am too lazy to lube it. But enough of that. Besides the silence, this case offers 4 internal 5.25 inch bays, 3 external 5.25 inch bays, and 2 3.5 external 3.5 inch bays. (standard floppy) A 389 Watt Antec True Power power supply is included, which provides more than enough juice for the average user. True Power is by far the best Power supply you can get, and it's quiet. The case also offers 2 front USB 2.0s, 1 firewire, a headphone jack, and a mic jack. The blue LEDs in the front are also a nice feature, also standard. The case comes with one fan, but it's a massive yet quiet 120mm version. The side panel is also easy to take off. Keys are also included for locking the side and front panels. Great case for anyone, plenty of room.
