Pros: Excellent build quality, impressive driver utilities, good range, supports 802.11g with new driver. Cons: New drivers must be downloaded for 802.11g support, yellow addendum sheet is inaccurate.
I purchased a Netgear DG834G wireless router and needed a wireless network card for my notebook. I picked this Belkin one up from PC World for £45 because it was the cheapest (the Netgear ones were £60). I could have got it cheaper mail-order but wanted ...

Problems with Windows 98 SE
by fiddlydee ,Jan 03 '05
Pros: cheap and probably works well with WinXP. Cons: cheap, most recent drivers aren't supplied with box.
While I'm sure there are few problems using this card with WinXP, it is not as flexible with the older Win98 Second Edition. As the previous reviewer indicated, the drivers supplied are outdated and most users will need to download current drivers from the support site. My problem specifically revolved around the software written for the network card. After installing software/drivers and rebooting, the program wouldn't function properly. I un-installed the program, went to the website and used the updated drivers to see if that fixed the problem, but it didn't. The old drivers weren't removed by the un-install program and left them there for a conflict with the new drivers. What a pain. I'm taking it back to the store and not recommending it to anyone with windows 98.

Mac OS X 10.4, beware
by jasnet ,May 06 '05
Pros: Hardware in Mac OS X 10.3 functions very well. Cons: Card does not function in Mac OS X 10.4.
Mac users- This card is easy to set up and functions well in Mac OS X 10.3. The only drawback is the unintuitive software by Ralink, makers of the chipset.
In Mac OS X 10.4 this unit does not function. Period. Support is poor. On the Ralink forum (www.ralinktech.com) customers are desperate and begging for a software upgrade compatible with 10.4, or at lest the courtesy of a response as to when, if ever, software will be offered.
Good hardware, poor software and support.
