Canon i860 Photo Bubble Jet Printer 23/16ppm Printer

Pros: Quick printing, vivid photos, photo paper holder, quiet mode and power save options.
Cons: No CD direct printing feature as in the European i865 model, darn recording execs

I bought the Canon i860 after reading numerous web site reviews and user reviews. I have within the first 40 minutes of having installed the printer, already used the 5 sheets of Pro Photo paper sample pack. I am really glad I listened to what users had to say in the reviews. The 4x6 photo paper holder is wonderful as is the quiet mode printing and the auto on and off (for power save). The photo prints take no longer than 20 to 30 seconds each, wow! Do your self a favor and listen to those who have gone before you in purchasing this printer, you will NOT be disappointed.

I experienced true photo quality with this printer. I traded the epson C84 for this one, much better. It is very fast as well. Has everything that I need, and nothing that i don't want (card readers!!). The direct printing is a nice feature that works well. A great printer for photos as well as general printing.

Pros: Superb "lab quality" color photos, fast black and white.
Cons: Haven't owned long enough to judge ink mileage.

I walked into Best Buy expecting to buy an HP ink-jet to replace my old HP. The salesman convinced me that photos from my Canon digital camera will come out better on a Canon printer, and that the i860 is also fast (and ink-thrifty) for black text. I felt foolish for believing him, but when I got it home and tried it, he's absolutely right! Use Canon 4x6 paper (or larger if you wish) and get prints that look like you sent away to a lab for them.
Very fast black&white ("draft" mode looks fine), reasonable speed on color photos (which look GREAT).
Great software, hooks up nicely with Canon camera software.
For the price, it's a great deal.

Excellent Printer. Easy to set up and use. Has many photo print options from 4X6 to 8X11. Five separate ink tanks. USB or Parallel connection. Great bundle of software. I have never owned a Cannon printer before, but I would recommend this one over an Epson or H.P. any day!!

Pros: Quick high quality prints. Cheap ink. Ease of use.
Cons: The paper tray seems little weak but I have had no problems with it.

This printer is great. I have previously been loyal to Epson only printers but since their C series have been riddled with problems I purchased this Canon. Ink is much cheaper, great quality prints print quickly, and the handly 4X6 paper holder guides 4X6 photo paper easily into the printer. Great buy!

Cannon is great!! When I got a defective printer I thought it was going to be like pulling teeth to get it fixed/repaired or replaced... I called Cannon the Day after Christmas they determined it was defective, and sent me a brand new printer via 2day ups, they also sent a return UPS label for me to ship the old one back. The guy I was on the phone with said we are sorry no less than 10 times, What great Customer service!! I would highly recommend working with Cannon again!! Now that we have a working printer we are delighted with the pictures it prints!!!

I am a newbie at digital photography and printing. I did a lot of research on what printer to buy and decided on the I860. The sales staff tried to encourage me to buy an HP printer, but I held my ground and bought the Canon. I printed off a variety of vacation pictures on 4x6, 5x7 and 8 1/2 x11 photo paper. Everyone was blown away by the quality of the prints. Even with a magnifying glass you can't tell they were printed on a home printer. Again... I am new to the whole digital world, so the pictures taken were total amateur pics and not altered. It is very easy to install, the second sheet feeder for 4x6 prints is a nice feature. My only hesitation was that the printer does not have a card reader slot. But after giving it thought, I always download my pics to the computer anyhow... so why need a card reader slot.

Cons: very poor text printing...light printing and fuzzy text

This may be great for photos, but text print quality is mediocre at best. Perhaps I bought the wrong printer as I need primarily text printing and occasionally photo printing

Cons: defective out of the box & manual does not cover text printing at all.

just out of the box, it prints a line of text on a slope so that the characters at the right margin are 1/8" lower than the characters at the left margin. Took it in for warranty repair. They say the paper is feeding okay and they are waiting for Canon to ship them a logic card. I don't know what the outcome will be but I wonder how many of these turkeys got off the line?
