Pros: Cheap, high-quality, fast, quiet printer! Cons: Duplex (double-sided) printing doesn't work quite right. Mac support a little lacking.
Most people like to think about their printer as little as possible and have it just work. I guess I'm one of those people. I like printers that run worry free and last a long time with little maintenance. The Canon iP4000 fits the bill. When I ...
Pros: Fast, affordable, great output & affordable supplies Cons: Slow startup and large desktop footprint
Okay, let’s get this in the open up front. This is not my first Canon printer and probably will not be my last. For two and a half years I happily used my Canon i850 printer. It never failed me. Well… until I finally wore it out. Since I was never ...
Pros: Individual ink-tanks; Ink efficiency; duplexing; to-the-edge prints; Cost of Ink Cons: Printed horribly out of the box - took time to set up. That's it though.
I've worked in IT for the last 4.5 years at a school supporting about 450 PCs, and however many printers. I'd never owned a printer of my own though to be honest... I always just printed things at work on the color lasers. But when I left my job to ...
Pros: Great speed, beautiful pics, great software! Great price level. Cant go wrong with it. Cons: No mediaCard reader, no LCD screen, doesnt print to CDs. Epson/HP have more features.
OK. 1st thing I noticed...it DOES think alot as was posted. When you tell it to print, it spends anywhere from 3 to 10 seconds before it actually grabs the paper and starts firing...Not a huge issue but its noticable. You dont lose much though, it ...
Pros: speed, print quality, DUPLEX PRINTING, easy to install and operate, price Cons: Ugly with a capital "U"
I have over the many years used all the major brands of printers and to this day my favorite has been a Canon BJC-6000s that I retired a couple years ago. I have been using a Lexmark Z705 while I researched an affordable, high quality printer for ...
Pros: pretty, clean designed case. has both USB/PARALLEL printer connection. i use the older connection. Cons: slow on the get-go....when printin pictures...thinks a long time....once it starts to print its fast.
AUG 11, 2004 we bought one! 5 ink tanks, 2 black, 3 color. $13 for the big blk, $11.95 each for all others. sounds good to my wallet. got it home, did all the easy setup. both win 98 and XP removable hard drive , so i had to do both setups. quick and simple. pictures are beautiful!!!! text is crisp!!! we had an EPSON C82, 15 MONTHS OLD IT STOPPED PRINTING. NO MORE EPSONS. reason i bring the c82 in to this is....this canon, you dont know its working, unless you are watching it!!! its that quite, the EPSON C82 i thought evertime it picked up a sheet of paper it was breaking!!!! that noisy!!!!!
Pros: Excellent quality output, Dual paper feeds, 2sided printing, 2 black cartridges Cons: No card slot, but I wouldnt use it anyway.
Nice crisp output. My wife loves the borderless printing for pictures. I like that there is 2 black cartridges, so you dont use the same black for text as you do for photo printing. The two sided printing is great. Dual paper feeds is very helpful, and the lower tray holds a lot of paper.
Pros: To others - Not enuff fancy schmancy buttons Cons: To Others - Not enuff fancy schmancy buttons
If you're looking for a true digital quality photo printer consider Canon's iP4000. It's very affordable and not an 'inkeater" compared to other printers namely Lexmark. iP4000 is handsdown one of the best printers out there. It consumes individual ink cartridges meaning you'll only have to replace the color that you have to replace. Canon's iP4000 - One of the best out there - Trust Me!
Pros: Very quiet. Great photo quality. Separate inexpensive tanks. Good value for the money. Cons: "Thinks" a long time before printing.
My Epson C84 just up and died on me. I mean it was DRT (Dead Right There).
I'd been thinking about a different printer for a while since the cost of the Epson "chip" cartridges was killing me. Also, the Epson "Print Head Cleaning" cycle that I seemed to have to do a LOT, would basically drain a new cartridge before I could get it back to printing a "good" photo.
The reviews on the Canon IP4000 were all good so when the Epson died, I went out that day and got the Canon.
The Canon set up very fast and was printing perfect photos and text from the get-go. I thought it was broken it was so quiet. I really like the dual paper feeds. I can put my draft paper in one feed and my good letter quality or photo paper in the other and just change with the push of a button.
As for the cost of the ink tanks, I got 10 tanks (Black and color) for the same cost as 2 of the Epson "chip" equipped tanks.
Pros: Modern design, easy to use, excellent quality Cons: Usb cable not provided
I bought this printer from Comet for £99.99 yesterday, unfortunately the only draw back was that you have to pay extra for the usb cable. On setting up the printer i found it really easy to install and am very impressed with the quality. I bought this printer to mainly print photographs and believe i have got a bargain! It takes seconds to print! I highly recommend this printer
It even looks like a winner by canalien ,Oct 27 '04
Pros: Speed and price Cons: I use a Smart Media card reader so not having card slots isn't an issue.
Replacement for a 2-year-old Canon S820. Had a problem that wasn't worth fixing considering the $135 delivered price of the iP4000. Most noticeable difference is the higher speed. Reproduction is "blacker" than the S820 produced, but I like them both. Two black cartridges in the Pixma and no photo magenta and photo cyan explains why it prints darker pictures.
Amazing quality at a low price! by ahockett ,Sep 16 '04
Pros: Ease of setup, intuitive software, great prints, separate ink cartridges mean less wasted ink. Cons: No card slot.
The recent acquisition of a Canon 10D SLR (6.3 megapixels) drove my search for a better quality photo printer than our old Epson Photo 740. I absolutely found it in the PIXMA iP4000. A few minutes to set it up and I was printing 8.5 x 11 inch prints that look and feel like I got 'em done at the camera shop. The accompanying software is also very easy to use. A Canon customer since 1960, my satisfaction with their products continues 44 years later. At $150 the PIXMA iP4000 can't be beat.
