Pros: good retail customer service, inexpensive phones Cons: $.05 charge for each incoming text message, less-than-stellar coverage area
I was ready to switch my cellular service away from AT&T and decided to go with T-Mobile. Their phones seemed pretty nice, and the monthly rates were competitive given the amount of "anytime" minutes that were included with the plan. Also, T-Mobile to ...

Pros: GSM Technology, Great value plans, Unlimited phone selection. Cons: No service in remote rural areas.
I have been a VoiceStream subscriber for 6 months and have been more than satisfied with the service.
My reasons for choosing Voicestream over Sprint, Verizon or others offer in this market, were two fold.
First off, I wanted to have the newest...

Pros: In-town coverage was adequate. Cons: Samsung rebate is a fraud.
Coverage was very limited.
I mailed in my rebates totaling $150 for my 2 phones the same month of purchase. After a couple of months I called and was told that they never received my forms. I printed out new forms and mailed them in again, about month later I called them and ...

My number is not in service!!!!
by ellochka ,Apr 08 '04
Pros: Great connection, decent coverage, but... Cons: ... potential employers get 'Not in service' message!!!!!!
I like everything about T-Mobile. Or, at least I liked till last month. Till a potential employer could not reach me for a phone interview. He tried a several phone lines -- he KNEW my number was in service -- but the answer was 'Not in service'. Finally, he e-mailed me, and I called him back. That was a month ago.
Today I got a call from another out of town employer. We talked about work and salaries. Then she let me know that she was taking my resume home for a week, and she was trying to reach me. 'Number is not in service' -- again. Finally, she got through. So, how many employers got the 'not in service' message and never called back????
It's my only phone line. The number is in my resume, and my resume is all over the country. I WANT OUT OF THE SERVICE CONTRACT!!!!!! I'D PAY TWICE AS MUCH TO GET THAT CALL!!!! Are they f***ing phone company or WHAT?????????????

Excellent Customer Service, So So Reception!
by gitanobeno ,Jun 17 '05
Pros: Affordable calling and data plans, good customer service Cons: Less than average signal (Columbus, Ohio)
T-Mobile offers excellent calling and data plans along with best customer service around. However my only issue in the Columbus area is that I typically do NOT get a strong and steady signal. i.e. when at my house my phone's reception goes in and out of service. This also happens when I am on the road. My suggestion before getting service from T-Mobile is to first find someone who has T-Mobile service and try their phone for reception and call clarify in your house and couple of areas that you'll be making calls the most. Please note that majority of reception and call quality issues have to do with "Strength of your signal" than anything else, Such as phone brand etc.
