Pros: Great print quality, easy to set up and put to use, vast capabilities Cons: It can run through ink quite fast
Sometimes when it comes to printing in color, you want something better than a standard color printer, and you want something that can give you an image almost as good as a developed photo. When you are printing off images of cells and bacteria, such as ...
Pros: Front & back USB ports, great photo quality, memory card slot Cons: Software has poor red-eye reduction
I've always been a digital-photography fan. I bought a digital camera in 1999, and printed photos with an ancient HP722. A few months before my daughter was born, my aged Olympus C-2000Z finally gave up the ghost. I decided it was not only ...
Pros: CD printing works - way faster and more professional looking than label kits. Cons: Will smudge. Not as "rich" and "deep" as screen printing but more tests needed.

Pros: Excellent, glitch free quality, easy to use, full featured with CD and photo printing. Cons: Maybe a bit expensive on ink.
I am extremely pleased with this printer. I needed to replace my old Canon BJC 5000, and decided to get another Canon printer. When I went to purchase the canon the demo printer had problems loading the paper, not a good sign. I spoke with the ...
Pros: Solid feel to body, excellent quality consumables, realistic color, smudge-free ink, great price. Cons: Good results with third party vendors require alot of tweaking in advanced settings.
I have had the R300 for a few weeks now. I am very impressed. I won’t bother rattling off all the data you can locate on Epson’s website or info culled in the many reviews on computer mags, I’ll just tell you what I’ve encountered so far. First off, ...
Pros: Quiet, professional output, ease of use great savings consumables $, sturdy, features. Itsa Winner Cons: Not all models have viewer U need to specify,I didn't buy sooner!
THE BEST printer for color photo and plain paper output! My family has a printing business, so naturally all the kids were taught the business. A finicky eye for detail, crisp color, hue, brightness, clarity, etc. My father esp is picky, and bought a ...
Pros: High speed high quality prints, plus the CD printing option. Cons: The spare cartridges can cost as much as £11 each if you buy Epsons own.
This is one of the best Printers on the market. Capable of 5760 DPI real photo quality printing. Print a 10 X 8 borderless photo on the best settings & you will be hard pressed to tell the difference between it & a proper Kodak print. This Printer is ...
Pros: Cost, quality, ease of use Cons: Large foot print
I purchased the Epson R300 10 weeks ago after reviewing every photo printer on the market priced between $100 to $500. I settled on the Epson for not only price but exceptional quality. As of now, I have printed probably 15+ photographs from 4" x 6" ...
Pros: The quality of the printing on discs is superb. Photos and text also. Cons: Occasionally spoils a disc. Transport mechanism for discs does not always work well.
I bought an R300 in December, 2003, specifically to print on CDs and DVDs. That's the only use to which I've put it, other than to check that it prints photos and text OK. (It does.) I've printed on about 200 Toyo Yuden CDs and Verbatim DVDs. I had to ...
Pros: Picture quality fantastic, easy to use, great support. Cons: Set up, Epson only paper?, keep it clean, timely cartridge set up
I bought this printer in Costco 9whole sale club), just in case I wasn't happy. The Epson unit is by far faster than the HP 900 series I replaced, and the detail is crisper. When you print with it, most people don't know you printed at home. When I ...
Pros: An excellent printer for photographs 8 1/2 X 44 inches and smaller. Cons: I have no negative comments about this printer
This one is the little brother to my big Epson 2200. In fact, when I purchased it, I hadn't even ordered my computer system yet. When it comes down to print quality, this little printer can really do the job. It goes to 5760 X 1440 dpi on the resolution ...
Pros: Ultra-clear photo printing, smokin' fast text printing (in draft mode) Cons: Tank replacement could get pricey, LCD display is not backlit
I just bought this unit yesterday. Having been quite dissatisfied with the output from my Canon C755 Multipass unit, I decided to buy a new printer. I had read some glowing reviews of the R300 and R300M (the M moinker denoting that the unit has an LCD ...
Pros: Affordable CD printing, good detail Cons: Boosts Magenta (Red), ink price
Update: I returned this printer and got the R200 for the CD printing capability and will continue to use my Canon i950 for photo prints. I bought this printer with the intention of making it my primary color printer and then using my Canon i950 ...
Pros: Creates great looking prints. Individual inks save money. Cons: Sometimes there is minor smearing if you do a lot of printing all at once.
This is a great printer for the price. I am a part-time freelance photographer and with a Minolta negative/slide scanner and a little work in Photoshop I can get 4x6 and up to 8x10 prints to come out better than any photo lab. The colors are vibrant ...
Pros: It prints on CD. Print photos without a computer. Cons: Not photo quality, slow, costly.
I bought this printer as a replacement and upgrade to my Epson C82. I should of learned my lesson with the Epson 820 and Epson C82. I chose this printer so I could print on CDs and it offered photo quality prints and blazing fast prints. The only truth ...
Pros: price, pretty good photo quality, separate cartridges. Cons: inc price, photos dont always turn out as you wanted, photo screen inc bars
I find this printer ok because I live on an island in and there are no printing stores around. The six color printer seems to prove well enough for my point and shoot digital camera but some of the photos dont come out how I want them to. Meaning ...
Pros: Despite its short shelf life, it does produce beautiful photos. Cons: Short shelf life, Unhelpful technical support, Difficult and unreliable drivers, Lack of service centers
Printer drivers are always finicky (despite numerous updates). If the printer breaks (which mine did), Epson does not offer 1-800 numbers to call for support. You have to call on your own dime. Also, most states have only a few service centers. ...
Pros: If it prints, it looks great Cons: You can't walk away from this printer or it will hang up.
I bought this printer for CDs and DVDs. This printer looks great IF you can get it to work. You can not walk away from it or it will hang up during print at any stage. I can't ever get it to work the first time I turn it on. It pulls in the print ...
Pros: price, separate inc cartridges, preatty good printing quality. Cons: inc usage, pictures don't always come out as you want, printer screen inc bars.
I find this printer ok because I live on an island in and there are no printing stores around. The six color printer seems to prove well enough for my point and shoot digital camera but some of the photos don’t come out how I want them to. Meaning grainy ...
Pros: Dirt cheap!! fast, quiet, easy to use, inexpensive ink, easy software, great photo printer. Cons: Doesn't print directly from dx 6490 camera on usb.
Had the 300R for about 2 weeks. Setup was a breeze (just follow the directions). Started right up with glossy 4X6 borderless photos to see if it really was as good as they say, it is. A little tweaking and the prints come out in 22 seconds on the highest settings. Compared my photos to a professional fuji machine, very close in quality but not quite their yet. Although the printer cost $1800 less. Next went to dvd and cd printing. Used my epson perfection scanner for a scan and print. Worked perfect and still working perfect. The better the paper the better the prints. There's no smudging or smearing, printer runs super quiet. Even dumped water on the prints. No smearing. Used epson paper. Went online and found ink 98% less expensive than retail (do a little homework It's easy) Automatic color matching to adobe and all my graphics software. No tweaking. Software super easy to use.
Unreliable product. I bought two R300s. After installation the power supply of one of the printers blew itself up almost instantanious. The power cable supplied with the R300 is not ground shielded. The overall impression of the R300 is that it has a rather plastic look and is not solid. Print quality is disappointing, even with Tetenal professional photo printing paper. Printing is expensive with the R300 since the 6 cartridges contain only 13ml of ink each. In the status monitor screen the printer cannot be set to black or color printing. Accordingly, the R300 will always use some of the colors even when printing text. Service and support from Epson is awful. Normally, one would expect them to send a new printer and take the one which is down back. Not Epson: they will let you wait two weeks before they send back a repaired product. I bought HP and Epson printers over the years with equal satisfaction, but I am not even considering to buy Epson in the future if this is their policy concerning service.
Garbage Product and Company by ironfeik ,Aug 08 '05
Pros: At this point I have none. Cons: See my review body.
I purchased this printer. It did a nice job for a few months. Then I began to have problems with print quality, and now only prints light magenta. Luckily I'm still under warranty to get it fixed. However, I HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL FOR SHIPPING it out of state to get fixed. In addition, the company I am sending it to didn't exactly sound like they are very sharp over the phone. It will be about $20 to ship it there and back...if they can fix it! Meanwhile I'm out of a printer for who knows how long (I was given no timetable). Dealing with Epson was terrible, I had to pay for the call to California and sit on hold for 20 minutes. I spoke with a couple reps, all were clueless. Avoid this printer, believe me. Avoid Epson, go with a Canon or HP. I greatly regret buying this printer.
Pros: Very good eye pleasing quality Cons: High cost of cartridges, thus I happily refill my own.
This printer is great except for the ink, that`s why I refill my cartridges. I bought the printer at Costco for $109 and it included a cable. So far it has given me excellent output and reliability.
Pros: Vivid, photo look of prints, prints on CD/DVD's. Cons: Poor color matching.
I agree with many reviews about the crisp, clear results from this printer. Very High quality.
HOWEVER-- I am having a difficult time with color matching.
I have noticed prints to have more magenta. I have several prints taken with a 6.3 mp digital camera, and the display on the camera and the display on the computer show one thing, but the printer prints a much different looking picture--almost like a totally different picture. No matter how many settings I changed on the printer, the color was still off.
example: the printer prints one picture where the ocean water looks purple, not blue as in the same picture printed from another printer.
However the contrast in the epson is much better. I would really like this printer if the color matching was corrected. I will have to take it back for an HP I guess (although I hate to do that).
I give 3 stars (average)....If color was not an issue I would give 5 Stars (excellent)!
Pros: cheap to run, large paper tray 6 (colours) or colors will print from memory cards Cons: a bit bigger than normal but good looks & styling,
I've owned one for about a year never had a problem I buy my inks at a local pc fair a full set of six cartridges costs me £7 thats about $13, great quality photos too prints onto cd surface realy pro looking, A bit on the large size for home use boot works great
Pros: nothing Cons: wastes ink; breaks down; very slow; hard to operate; it's a joke.
the Epson R300 is the worst printer imaginable. It prints very, very slow, it even takes forever to power up. It requires nearly ten separate printing cartridges for around $15 each and they run out FAST! And you cannot print if one runs out, not even black. You are literally enchanged by this hunk of junk to buy more and ink. And on top of all else, it breaks down. Epson has had trouble with this printer even accepting its own print cartridges. It's very temperamental and is a waste of time and a total frustration. I didn't even bother doing the RMA on it when it broke down under warranty. I just threw it away because I didn't want to deal with another. Seriously, do yourself a favor and avoid it! :)
Nice printer but CD printing extremely frustrating by bubblemusic ,Apr 04 '05
Pros: good performance for standard printing Cons: Almost makes the "doesn't work" catagory for printing on CDs
Prints great and is nice to have a card reader hooked up to my computer at all times. If you want to print on CDs in quantity I would look elsewhere. I never know when it's going to crash or get stuck or just act weird. How many years has it been out and they still haven't gotten the drivers to work right. It does seem to work a little better now that I'm on Mac OS 10.3. The tech support could be better too.
Excellent Printer! Very Satisfied!! by crys94 ,Mar 08 '05
Pros: Prints fast, Great price Cons: Still not professional quality printing, but good enough.
I have used several different inkjet printers and I have to say that this is one of the best ones I came across for consumers. Of course, you're still not going to get professional-looking CDs and photos printed, but it's close enough for the cheap price you pay for this printer! I have printed numerous CD and DVD labels and covers and all my friends are impressed at how great they look. Prints super fast as well!
