Pros: Small, affordable, replaceable battery, buit-in Bluetooth, SD card slot, plenty of memory Cons: Plastic case, no display cover, no thumb wheel, minor software quirks
I've been a devoted user of Palm OS-based PDAs for many years. And although I've been peeking at Poc ...
Pros: Beautiful Screen, thin & light, powerful OS, FAST, great battery life, great value Cons: Off-axis screen yellowing, no factory case, no printed manual, no bundled software
A little background...I didn't think I needed a PDA. My wife had a Palm M100. When she upgraded to a Tungsten E, I inherited the M100. Well, I used that little thing until it stopped working. So, I was in the market for a new PDA. I went to ...
Pros: Small size, good price, clear and bright screen, packed with features Cons: Have to buy a case separately, back battery cover is flimsy
First Impression: Shopping for a new PDA several months ago to replace my broken Palm Zire71, I decided to give the iPaq series a try. First thing that appealed to me: despite the slim and small size, the hp1945 had almost all the features my ...
Pros: Size
Screen
Bluetooth Cons: No case
No cradle
I'd been using my trusty Handspring Visor Platinum for a few years, but lately the touch screen has stopped responding to touches and the battery life has gone to nil. So I decided it was about time for an upgrade. After looking over the reviews, I set ...
Pros: pretty screen, good sound Cons: wifty battery cover, no cradle, reliability/workmanship, service
I purchased my iPAQ because it was the recommended (read: subsidized) PDA at my company. My geriatric Palm had given up the ghost and it was time. I really wanted to like the 1945. It has a beautiful screen, excellent text entry, and even pretty ...
Pros: Sleek and light. Perty screen. Plays mp3's, movies, has a mic, bluetooth. Battery life. Cons: Built in wi-fi would be nice.
I got this as a wedding present and I totally wasn't expecting it. I'm into computers which I build up for myself and for family and I work for a software company, but when it comes to mobile devices I'm still in the stone ages. I don't have a cell ...
Pros: Battery life, memory is good, Many nice applications, USB Sync, awesome, fast! Cons: No case, no WI-FI (I guess the more expensive model would have it)
I used to have a Palm M105 which was OK for the times but quickly because very limiting. I love the brilliant color, the memory and all of the little things that make this a value. Use of the SD slot (I have a 256MB stick)is easy and efficient. I use Pocket Streets, several versions of the Bible, a dictionary, many games, loads of documents and other utilities and still have plenty of room. A great, much-needed tool for productivity!
Pros: Light weight, good screen resolution Cons: Not enough accessories available for unit. Would like keyboard, hard case, etc.
I always swore that I would not get a hand held PC because I figured I would eventually loose all the information in it or just loose the entire unit.
After using my IPAQ for about 5 months now I have fallen in love with it. If I loose it I will be very sad but I won't be lost because I back it up regularly with my desktop computer. So if I do misplace my pocket PC I will at least have the information.
The IPAQ runs very smoothly with little trouble. It took a little time to get used to using the stylus but now can zip through an entry with no problem.
The color screen is easy to read and displays graphics nicely. The button are a bit small but I have gotten used to them.
I would recommend the IPAQ to anyone considering a hand held PC. I have gotten to rely so much on mine that I feel naked if I don't have it with me at all times.
Pros: I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! Cons: I can't think of anything except for the 2.5mm jack.
I used to have a Palm 505 - supposedly in color... But that was Palm's first stab at making their Palm in color. I bought it with hopes that I would have a color display - but it was aweful. I should of returned it from the get-go! But I had bought it at a discount - if you know what I mean...
Anyhoo, the iPAQ 1945 I just bought is GREAT! I love it! Yeah, it might not come w/cradle & protective flip case that my old Palm came with. But I just realized I don't miss the cradle as much as I thought I would - less to carry! :) As for the protective gear, I found a really great inexpensive case ($40 w/tax&ship)specifically for the 1945 model made by rhinoskin & I love it!
